I didn't take my Recon 1 apart when I scraped all the paint off either and was able to get all of it off that you can see. I have to say that after carrying it for a while now and seeing yours stripped. The AK-47 is next on my list.

cziv I really like how you transitioned the tanto portion of the blade on yours. I may have to copy you on that.

Because of this thread i stripped my Recon 1 today, with the Sak Farmer bottle opener mostly. Thanks, i like it more this way, and now im thinking of filing some of that G10, sanding it a little...

Looks great man! The ones with the ultralock have a different coating - you got lucky both ways!!

I've thought about it, seems as though the coating on the glass breaker holds up better than the blade coating. Not sure if it's the same stuff or how the aluminum would look underneath.
