I'd like to hear on this as well.
It is definitely ugly. And it's now mine.
When your wife questions you on what you just laid out hundreds of dollars for, the right answer is NOT SHe is stripped and tan.... Big mistake. I don't know if it would have helped or hurt if I told her that SHe is ugly and looked better prior to stripping.
I am aware I knew what I was buying. I didn't complain.
What are you guys implying by stating that?
It was meant as a compliment.
Not implying anything, you got a great user at a good price, and didn't have to do the work of stripping. Winner.
But if mine looks like that after stripping, well, no amount of hand sanding can make those pits go away.
Maybe I'll just strip the grind, and leave the flats coated.
I love my SHe (black canvas/muddy) but even without stripping I can see the pits and unevenness. It doesn't bother me but have to admit it's the first time I've seen it on a coated Busse.
By the way, I should have added that other than a few dimples, my SHe is perfect -- handles flush to blade, excellent grind from heel to tip. Love it
The nice thing is, that if what we're seeing is some kind of indication that the blade is not as strong as it should be, that I know Jerry will stand behind it and take care of me.
I think I could handle those pits alot better than finding something like that ASHBM a while back that looked like someone used a dremmel tool to write "anniversary" on the blade. That one made me cringe a little. Lol!
