Hey guys i was wondering, what are the strongest, toughest spydercos? I have a delica4 and dragonfly that i love, but i want something liner or frame lock thats stronger then those two, I was looking at the persistence which seems built great. what do you guys think?

also, do all spydercos have torx screws? or do any have alan or something else? Because a few of my torx screws will strip once in awhile thanks

Personally, I think the Gayle Bradley and Superleaf are two of the toughest in their current lineup. Or, if you're willing to wait, I think the Tuff and Laci Szabo folder are both gonna be very strong.

I'd add the Lionspy, Paramilitary and titanium Military. I wouldn't rate the Persistence as particularly strong but it is a good knife for the money.

I dont have many spydercos but am getting more, and i have only held a persistence once. do you think the persistence is stronger than the delica4? because the delica doesnt seem all that strong compared to other knives. waht about the sage 1 or 2?

My vote goes for the Chinook (any version), the older Manix, the Mini Manix, anything Spyderco made in Golden with a lockback is pretty much awesome.

+1 on the full size Manix. It's a lockback and mine's always had the tiniest bit of vertical play in the blade, but it still has the feel of an extremely strong, solid folder.

Thanks guys, and revdevil, what about for liner or frame locks, what would spyder would you go for?

I've had a lot of spydercos, all are strong well built knives but the gayle bradley is by far the most over built spyderco I've owned Its like a Zero tolerance with cpm-m4 steel

The Vallotton is no slouch. It's .157" blade tang has .065" steel liners on either side along with .160" thick stainless bolsters on both sides, all this makes for a very tough pivot area. Lockup via a liner lock, on a 4mm thick blade of S30V that maintains it thickness all the way to within a 1/4" of the tip before coming to a point. Of course all this does not make it the best slicer, and if that is what you really need, then this knife may not suffice. But it is still a very, very tough folder from Spyderco!

For liner lock I'd say Gayle Bradley, the liner/cutout is actually noticeably thicker than ZT 200 which is quite the tank.

I should have posted on this thread sooner. I think you guys have covered all the strong Spydies as far as I'm concerned.

I just took a measurement with my calipers(the old manual dial type).

The 0200 measures .080 and the GB measures .072. I think the liners on the 0200 are just a little bigger than the GB.

how about the para2? is that as solid as the manix2 or gb? Right now im looking at getting a nicer one around 100 and a more beat around. I know im gonna get the persistence for the beater, but still not sure about my more expensive one :D I have not been able to hold alot just videos, so thanks guys for the responses!
