strong spydercos

The Manix 2 Is A TANK.
Mine Has Lived Through Everything And Is Still A Hell Of A User.
My Best Friend Loves To Use It For Heavy Jobs, And I Swear She Sits There Plotting The Next Test She'll Give It.
Her Eyes Have Bugged Out Multiple Times At What A Tank This Knife Is.

And It's Not A Completely Oversized Tank. It's Sized And Weighted Perfectly For A Tank-Like Knife In My Opinion.

The Gayle Bradley.. I've Never Owned But I Know It's A Heavy Duty Overbuilt Knife With Excellent Steel And Ergos. It Has One Of The Best Liner Locks I've Witnessed.

As For The Paramilitary 2 - It's A Beautiful Heavy Duty Knife That Is Light Weight And Meant For Lots And Lots Of Use. The Compression Lock Is Amazing And Smooth, Easy To Deploy, And Just An Excellent Lock.
The Knife Can Handle Heavy And Light Tasks Without A Problem. Super Sharp Blade With Excellent Steel And The Handles Have Just The Right Grip. But Being Flat Ground, This Knife Can Slice With No Problem And Even Better Than Thinner Blades. It's An Excellent And Strong Knife, And Would Be Great For Any Knife Task.

Yeah, the Para 2 is built strong. The tip is thin though so it really depends on your idea of what is tough. The compression lock is top notch.

Also, the Spyderco Tuff is coming out this year and looks like it will be probably the strongest folder made by them to date.

My vote goes for the Chinook (any version), the older Manix, the Mini Manix, anything Spyderco made in Golden with a lockback is pretty much awesome.

+1 The Chinook is the first one that came to my mind as well.

The Tip Is Thin.
But, If You're Not Planning On Prying Things Open This Shouldn't Be A Problem.
I Personally Like A Thinner Tip As It's Great To Penetrate And Cut With.
Even The Manix 2 Has A Pretty Good Penetrative Tip.

I Also Think The Sage 2 Is A Beast Of A Little Knife.

I have a GB and I really like it bc it is very sturdy yet still slices extremely well. I've put a ss e4 and a salt1 through basically the same tasks and they have held up very well.

I'd get a gb though bc the level of materials and quality is very high vs cost. I also suggest getting a stainless steel Endura or delica. They feel more sturdy to me, and I love the weight. It feels so good

I will definetly check out the manix2, that knife isnt too pricey either which is nice. I am thinking of the manix2, sage1 or 2, chokwe or para2. or just get them all :D

The Volpe is only 3.9 ounces but this Italian made steel framelock is very strong for it's size and weight. It's no heavyweight but oz. for oz. it's one of the tougher spyders.

The Chinook has been mentioned, as has Manix original and M2. I love the large original not because I think it's tougher so much as I just like back locks.

the super leaf and superhawks shouldn't be overlooked, nor should the steel Enduras and steel police models. The all steel rescue earns a place here as well.

The Steel Cara Cara rounds out my list of some of the stronger models.

+1 For the Lionspy for sure.
Haven't held one personally, but by the looks of it, it's the toughest Spydie folder available at the moment. Thick, wide blade and frame lock construction. Also the Gayle Bradley and sabre ground Endura 4 get my votes.

The Chokwe Is The Most Amazing Blade In My Opinion And I've Owned Many.
I Like It Better Than My Sage 2.. And That's Saying Something.

had a bad experience with lock release assembly because it's *plastic*. forgot the model already, delica martial arts model? crazy expensive. packed it to Guam but when I took it out the blade was just flopping around :( Spyderco replaced no problem but I lost all faith in it because of that style release. Now EDC an Emerson wave. Solid.

it was the delica4? mines not bad, but out of all the spydercos ive handles that feels the least solid. dont let this one time get you away from them though. all there knives are very solid and quite attractive :D and the vg10 makes up for the delicas handle.

The strongest ones that I own are a Chinook II and Superleaf. I don't think the Military, Manix2, or PM fall into the same category as the aforementioned 2.

It Has An Odd Shape And Look To It But It Fits The Hand Like A Glove. You Can Choke Up On The Blade Without A Large Choil.
The Feel In The Pocket Is It's Almost Not There. The Clip Is Not Deep Carry But That's Not An Issue As It Still Rides Pretty Low In The Pocket. It's Thin And Great, But Really Strong. It Doesn't Have A Lanyard Hole, So I Looped My New Lanyard I Tied For It Through The Clip And It Looks Great And Feels Great. I Do The Same With My Wire Clip Knives Because They Also Do Not Have Lanyard Holes. I Thought That Maybe Because It Didn't Have a Deep Carry Wire Clip That The Lanyard Would Look And Feel Goofy, But I Was Wrong.

All In All, You Will Not Be Disappointed.

PM2, Persian and Gayle Bradley all give me more than enough confidence for any task I have requiring a knife.

the p'kal? the one with the little stick for wave, I've forgotten the exact name. I wanted a lightning fast little folder, and still do, so waiting on a waved karambit to come in to take it's place. I mean I still like spydercos, just ordered a "Spyderco Endura C10JBBP Blue Jigged Bone" but for my hamfisted needs to survive my screw ups EDC use I will rely on something else. ok, I want a para-mil too. eventually. argh. :p
