strongest, toughest knife under 100 bucks

Depends if one is perfectly fine with using knockoffs cause it's cheaper. I personally don't like knockoffs and rather save up. Like I'll never wear a fake Rolex and rather do without one if I can't afford it.

:)

Back to topic you can probably get a knifemaker to forge a strong tough knife with scrap spring steel for 100 bucks. No need for fancy scales or beautiful finish, just perfectly all business. I'm a thinking kinda like the knife in the new Rambo movie, simple and cheap.

This one is locally made, 5160 steel, differentially heat treated, water buffalo horn scales. It's pretty tough.

Nice, I was thinking about choppers or larger blade but really love the pins on this, does look plenty tough.

Himalayan Imports does a survival knife and its plenty tough. Forgot the name :)

What was the intended purpose of the knife anyway? I would have based my decision on that factor, as well as strength, and cost.
I own the SOG Seal, and though it gets a good rating on knifetests, it would not be my camp/woods knife. I did take it camping for years, but I would choose others now.
Schrade Extreme Survival series has at least two models with full tangs. I have one, and it was $45. Rubber scales are sort of weird, and it has a cheap sheath, but it's a start.

Hello?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is wrong with you people????!!!!!!!!!!
Without a doubt get an ESEE-3 or ESSE-4

For a folder: Cold Steel American Lawman, I've split wood-not kindling with it and the lockup is still the same-rock solid!

For a fixed blade: The only one's I've had extensive experience with are the Cold Steel SRKs, both Carbon V & Aus8

For a folder you can get a zt 0200 blemished model for 90.00,how about a buck nighthawk for a fixed, about 45-50.00

The schrade might be lisensed by reeve so it doesnt hurt anyone.

:confused::confused::confused:You kidding right? :confused::confused::confused:

CRK would never put its name on a product that couldn't meet its standards.

For your criteria of $100. I would say check out the ESEE line.

<$100

Try Himalayan imports. They usually have massive khukuries in that price range made from 1/2" thick forged 5160 (recycled truck springs).

Here is their forum:

Given your two criteria, really no contest. A 1/2"+ thick slab of differentially heat-treated 5160 beats anything else listed here.

Change the question, you change the answers in the realm of sanity.
