Stroppy Strop

Only about a third of one, They are cheaper when you buy it by the pound instead of the 1 ounce bars.

I love the huge strop,:cool::thumbup:

I need one, and started laughing at the thought of burning up a whole stick of geen compound on one:eek:

You kidding? I'm like a monkey with no tail. Just set the end on a bench. Actually saves you time this way. I wonder if I made one like 6 ft long and added it to one of my workbenches.........

dude, your arms must be REALLY long.
Do you clamp it down? hang it on a wall?
"Strop up. Strop down."

That thing is fantastic! I have an 18" strip on a 2x4 with shelf liner on the bottom, so it sticks to any surface. Yours is much more classy!

I suppose if there was interest I could make a BH group buy run of Stropasaurus'. Might even be persuaded to stamp your BH# on it.

I'm in! I've become a strop junkie lately. Once you finally get the hang of it... no other method of hand sharpening comes close.

Damn right :thumbup: :D...I find stropping though to be more of a final touch than actual sharpening. Some WD-40 on a light grit paper and then stropping is the way to go for me personally.

I made a big one out of a 2ft length of 2 x 4 with a 20 in leather strip. Great for big blades but need to coat the bottom with a rubberized compound or something to stop it moving. Right now I just lay it on a piece of rubber cupboard liner.....maybe just glue some to the bottom??

That is one big sharpening whompin stick!
