Stupid Questions from buyers

how is it you are being held responsible for the sword?
Well I thing if anything happens at this point he will try to blame me. The sword was perfect I hope no one will mess it up sharpening it.
He could have open it leave feedback and than send it out

I guess u should just ignore this thread !

I know play safe with your money but :) Why would u ask if u can make sword shorter ?(yea u can cut it in half I guess) Where is the safety there ?:) That is just plain stupid. It's like asking Can u make mini cooper from Toyota Corolla? Or does that car come with driver? those kind of questions I'm talking about ;)

I agree that "can I make the sword shorter?" is a pretty awful question but I would just assume I was getting trolled in that instance. I should amend my statement to include "provided you believe this is a good faith question with genuine interest in the knife".

I wouldn't worry about it. You have him on record saying that he sent the sword off for sharpening without even opening the box, right? That sounds to me like it's all on him and whoever sharpened it if he has a problem...

True, You know somehow I think he send it to Cold steel not to sharpen it but to confirm that is not counterfeit :-) I don't know do they make those counterfeits ?

One guy posted a Dalibor for sale the other day with virtually no description. When I asked him the blade steel and length, he got snippy and said the steel was stamped on the blade (not visible on his pictures) and if I want to know the blade length I should go to the Dalibor website.

That is the type of attitude that loses you potential sales. Sellers act like it is painful to include some basic info on the knife they are selling, especially if there are no photos or only thumbnail photos.

Well, I was in a buying mood, but needless to say, I spent my money on another knife (from a dealer, who was happy to provide details).

OMG, if I didnt automatically delete them I could write a book. My favs are the people who buy something without even reading the title or description of which would easily have prevented any potential BS. Typically International buyers who likely dont speak English but really, is that my problem being a USA seller willing to ship outside the lines? No. Tiz life...... :)

I see where you coming from, but I always have perfect description and great pictures.

I love posting something for sale with a description, information about the condition of the item, a dozen or so pictures, the price and a message stating that the price includes shipping to the lower 48 and that I will ignore lowball offers. Then I get some email like "WILL YOU DO $40 SHIPPED?!?!? ONLY GONNA OFFER THIS ONCE!" for the $100 item.

Then there are the people that no matter how many pictures you take, they email you and ask for more. That pisses me off almost as much as all of these lowballers trying to hustle people (you know who you are!)

The lowballers get a standard reply: "Thank you for your offer. I thought about it, laughed about it and will now forget about it!"

Great response. My new reply to low-ballers will be "Thank you for your interest, but with your budget I recommend buying a knife at Walmart."

Questions don't bother me much. It does bug me that people won't read what I wrote though.

It also bugs me when people seem to have an attitude that their knife is sooo valuable that it precludes them from offering pics, either in thread or via email. Just because you say it's nib doesn't mean that I don't want to know for sure. As has been pointed out, people's standards are different.

Good point. Some gold/plat members on here think they are doing the community a big favor and providing a valuable service by selling their knives here. For what they consider a very, very reasonable price. While it is nice, they need to verify the validity of their value. Some get a little boastful about it as well, and aren't afraid to let you know. sounds like a used car salesperson hawking knives. Not all members value quantity or price, as much as they value honesty, integrity, and openness.

honesty, integrity, and openness??? That is so 20th Century :)

Not exactly a stupid question, just a stupid time to ask...

I don't have photo hosting ability but in each sales/trade thread I clearly state I will gladly email as many photos as anyone wants to see. Well I get an offer I agree to and I ask the guy if he wants to see my pics to which he replys no (I am always very forthcoming and in-depth with my descriptions). I ship the knife, 2 days go by and I get an email from the guy asking for very specific pictures of different angles and the stamping on the blade and he gets all upset that I can't provide them (even tho I can provide general [detailed] photos of the whole knife AND the package is going to be to him in another day or so). I mean honestly at that point what am I supposed to do. (At that point I still sent the pics I had)

Sign up for a free photobucket account and post pics in the sales thread.

I have a PB account, I also have a Drop box (which is specifically advertised as being able to upload over cell service) the problem is where we live no hi-speed ISP's exist so were stuck with our 3G cell service. I don't have the abilit to upload photos... Good suggestion tho, trust me I know how much quicker my sales/trading would be if I could post photos.

Your pics don't have to be huge or super high res. If you can see the pic in my sig line you could upload one like it. A few like that would help yo sell most knives.

I'd love to and I've tried... everything. I have tried both over-browser and downloading the apps for every free photo hosting site. Piscas, PB, drop box, image shack, Walgreens photo album and several more. If I could I would, and not just for selling stuff (I'd like to be able to share photos too). And again the Drop Box app is designed specifically for uploading over cell service without needing wi-fi but even it doesn't work.
Low res, <100x100 pixels, whatever I do our sprint cell service here at the house (or anywhere else for that matter) just isn't capable of uploading, even emailing photos is very difficult and only works if I send one small (<.6mb) photo per email. We've talked to numerous sprint CS/tech support people, the Genius Bar, the sprint help forums, even best buy (where we oroginally bought our phones) My old iPhone 4 just will not upload pics...
