Most of the major cigarettes sold in Ship Stores when I was in the Navy in 1942 were selling for FORTY CENTS a carton---Four Cents a pack! When I retired from the Postal Service in 1988, ash trays were no longer allowed in the buildings! I quit cold turkey in 1984 and like to have beat myself to death reaching for cigarettes that were no longer there! No longer need shirts with pockets----lol ---Sandy---
