Sub-$300 Katana (2014 edition)

Yeah it's an hsts, I can't find any available for sale. The guy is awesome though. I love his ninja storage ottoman lol. It reminds me of a scene from revenge of the ninja

what do you rest your case about, if I may ask?

I have said many times that the study of budo and bujutsu begins and ends with the self....but the trip in between is often guided by Sensei(he who has gone before/a wise person). For most, but not all, this is a necessary part of the process.

Perhaps you will become Scotty2Hotty's sensei.

I wouldn't mind having a Sensei, but there are none here. I did enjoy having a more knowledgeable person guiding me and doing kata together. Any studio anywhere close to me is mma sporty stuff. I like traditional arts. I really miss my Iaido class but I have moved. But I just retain what I know. There is a bushinkan studio about an hour away, but I have surgeries coming up. As soon as my body is healthy enough, I'm hoping to give that a try since my family is interested.

Some time ago, when Masayuki Shimabukuro Hanshi(my Sensei at the time, RIP) was still with us, we would have students come to train weekly from 120 miles away. Sometimes dedication to your art requires very great effort to continue training.

Good luck with your surgeries.

Thank you. Once all is well, we plan on studying there. I want my kid to grow up in martial arts like I did.

Great movie/documentary! They discuss various martial arts, very interesting. I took karate for a short period when I was 12 or so, didn't stay in it long, but I did like it. I have seen every UFC since #1. I'm a huge MMA fan. Undefeated backyard UFC, LOL. 9-0. But I'm too old now to roll around in the yard with a bunch of drunk bastards! Kindof a smallish guy so all of my opponents were large to very large. I practice "scottjitsu." TrueBlue: What ails you, my friend?

I did a lot more ju jutsu (traditional not bjj) and taekwondo growing up, some karate and Iaido. Iaido is a lot more gentle on the body.

By the way the swords will be here Friday!
here's my other toy

I have tendonitis that put me right arm out of commission(even clipping a stapler hurt) for three weeks that says different, lol.
