No they are 38" square not a long rectangle like a scarf. Fold in half. Put the tringular piece in front of your neck and then wrap the two tails around behind your neck in opposite directions and bring em back around to the front. You can then either tie them in a square knot or lots of different fancy knots, or use a slide like that damascus one or sometimes I use a piece of stag too. Like here:

Photoshop no head. Wildrags are sometimes called scarves but not often, mostly wildrags, or a cowboy turtleneck, neck rag, neck hobble etc. They do keep you warm. Thats for sure. Wear one all the time this time of year. If you are into the fancy knots like a moustache knot or a buckaroo knot Nichole can make some of them 42" square. She has made some really large ones for some elk hunters in ID. They wanted to wrap around twice and then tie. Extra warmth.
