Suggest a knife for my wife please

I got my wife a mini griptilian. I showed her others, but she didn't like the liner lock or lockbacks , she preferred the Axis lock.

The Mini-grip has a thick handle. Knowing how small women's pockets are, it may not fit comfortably.

My wife carries a Benchmade Mini-Axis Stryker. Nice deep carry clip and a great all around knife. The Benchmade 531 may also be another good choice. Very thin and a great blade.

Keep in mind if she's flying, she'll have to check her bag, which is a pain in the ass for a pocket knife. I'm a paid member here(how much I love and carry knives) and I routinely go without a knife to avoid checking a bag. (I fly once a week.)

+1 on the mini grip. I really like the axis lock. It's my most carried edc knife. I love that I can open it with one hand faster than my autos and I don't chip my polish. With my nails the thumb studs/spidy holes do not aid me in deployment. I do have a Spiderco bug that I love on my key chain. I'm surprised how often I use it. I do like Saks. The classic, rambler, and the new pioneer with scissors comes to mind. I use the scissors often. These are easier for me to open than the traditionals for some reason. I have a leek and a chive. I rarely carry them. The pro is they fit so well in the pocket it's comfortable carry. The assist feature makes it and easy one hand open. In the hand it seems too slim for a good grip and I don't like the lock. I don't feel as safe using it as I do the mini grip. The mini grip has handled every task I asked of it from light pruning, breaking down boxes, opening letters/packages etc with ease. I've handled the ladybug and the delica. Both are great but they are 2 hand open for me, and lockbacks. The ladybug is small so check the scale to ensure it will meet your needs.

One of my coworkers really likes her rainbow Leek. Her boy thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Just about went simian feces when I told her Spyderco makes Enduras and Delicas in purple.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to let her use a spyderco and a benchmade and see which she prefers. I forgot about the Dragon fly. I also found a picture of a spyderco but don't remember its name, it's a small blade with a pair of scissors at the other end and is a slip joint. Anybody help with the name so I can look it up on Amazon?

The Benchmade Mini Griptilian is a great choice. My wife has one. However, the Spyderco Delica is also a very safe knife and very slim (slimmer than the Mini Grip). Stay away from frame locks and liner locks. Not only do they put fingers in harms way, but they require a detent to keep the knife closed and often this does not work.
My wife has the BM, but she now has two Spyderco Dragonfly knives (FRN) that she adores. She has a Delica on the way. The DF fits in her tiny purse and also in her nearly non-existent pockets. The Delica is far slimmer than the Mini Grip and she likes that, too.
The Delica (and DF) comes in a variety of colors: brown, bright green, bright blue, bright orange, purple, black, dark green, and yellow. The blade is long enough for defense but slim enough to hide.

That knife is a Clipitool. It is not my favorite Spyderco and harder to use than the Dragonfly.

For her folder, my wife carries a BM Mini-Grip (pink handle, of course) or a RAT 2 (again, pink handle). For her fixed blade, she carries an Izula (yes, again, pink). I also "force" her to keep a small SAK (actually, she carries two - a Cadet and a Classic) and a flashlight (Preon II) in her purse at all times. She uses the SAK's and flashlight way more than she ever thought she would. So, I don't really have to force it anymore... Hehe.

I would suggest either the Spyderco Dragonfly or Delica. I would also add the small multi-tool Leatherman Squirt PS4. The Squirt has a small blade, so you can cut things with it if you have to. The other tools might come in real handy with motel/hotel stays.

The Victorinox swiss army knives are always good. I would get the medium sized ones (93mm) and are pretty safe. The Bantam works well for me.

A small traditional stockman pattern (three or four blade) might work as well such as made by Hen & Rooster or what is referred to as a Peanut (two blade). Very useful little knives.

Delica or Mini-Grip are both great knives.

I got my wife a Delica; she chose the colour.

Then I offered to get her a Mini-Grip...she didn't want one because she already had the Delica.
If I had gotten her a Mini-Grip first though, she wouldn't have wanted a Delica...
Either one will do a great job.

I gave this to my wife:

As others have stated I agree with either a dragonfly or mini grip. But it depends on whether she will carry in her purse or in her pocket. My wife won't carry anything bigger than a dragonfly in her pocket. A cheaper alternative to both of those is a Kershaw Shuffle, which is an excellent little knife for the price.

My wife is about to start a new job where she will be traveling a lot and gone often. I want her to have a knife to carry with her that she can use for whatever various utilities she may need, but she is new to knives so I'd like the following:
Easy to open and close, with a closure system that keeps her fingers out of harms way

Relatively inexpensive, she tends to lose things so no $100+ knives

No tacticool looking things

Recently somebody posted very beautiful folding knife, classic from Buck,,,, model 110,,,, thought cost 29-50 bucks depend on sellers, had beautiful wooden scales, large enough blade, and enough rigid construction for folder knife - I d get her exactly this one.... I am not folder fan, neither I have much use for folder, that's why I don't fancy, neither purchase them, but this classic BUCK 110 I d love to get, just because it looks so great on pictures.

Bought my wife a purple kershaw leek for Christmas a few years ago and she loves it.

I got my wife a purple Kershaw Leek and she didn't like it. She did like (and take) my Victorinox Alox Electrician, and that is what she carries (and uses) every day.

My suggestion for picking out knives for a spouse is the same as trying to pick out a gun for them. Take them to the store and let them pick it out.
