I recently got some money for my birthday, so I thought what could be better to buy then a new knife. Not really worrying about budget and I don't need anything specific anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks ~ Braden

You really should give more info on your general likes and dislikes. However, if you actually do want a folder with around a 6 inch blade, your choices are going to be limited, and most of them will be from Cold Steel.

Check out a spring assist folder from Sog or Benchmade. Also like my Buck Alpha which is not spring assist but the thumb stud propels the blade quickly. This one is a well made folder around $55.

What is a good flip kind that you prefer

Do you have a budget in mind?

I would set a budget, and then search Knifecenter or BladeHQ, and filter your options from there, it might help narrow down your options. If your budget is under $200, I'd recommend a ZT since they have some reliably high reviewed knives. If you were looking at above $500, I'd go for a Tighe custom. But that's just based on preference, filters on the knife selling sites are the way to go if you are as crazy as me

I would get ANY zero tolerance. You cannot go wrong with any Zero Tolerance.

A few parameters will help narrow down your search.
Rocksteads go up to the thousands, then there are Rats for 30... Lots of room in between.
Also do you have a preference for locking mechanisms, deployment methods?

I would look around a bit. Who knows if what gets mentioned here really appeals to you as much as somethin else or not. At least try to get an idea as to what your looking for first. But hey if all else fails just get yourself a Rockstead.

The only 6 inch flipper I know of is the Cold Steel Ti-Lite, but that's got a Zytel handle, which to me feels like cheap plastic. I agree with the advice to get a Zero Tolerance. I'd look at the 0560 or 0452.

I will thanks

Not worried about budget ay....

If I wasn't worried about budget, and leaning towards a flipper, a few on my list would be:

http://www.bladehq.com/item--Ferrum-Forge-Kramer-Custom-Knives--32124

http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/CG...es-with-stingray-pattern-bolsters-pocket-clip

http://www.bladehq.com/item--Chuck-Gedraitis-Sicario-Flipper--33429

http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/CK...ed-design-blade-blue-anodized-titanium-handle

http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/ST...lade-black-g10-handles-with-blue-g10-bolsters

http://www.bladehq.com/item--Medford-Knife-Tool-Viper-Flipper--34356

http://www.bladehq.com/item--JD-van-Deventer-CRUZ-Flipper-Desert--30650

If non flippers, Rocksteads or a Crawford Perfigo would likely top the list, among others.

So if budget is no option, that's where I would start... Budget is an option for me though (but I like to window shop over knife porn from time to time), so it may behoove you to be a bit more specific if there is in fact a budget, if truly not, hope the links help.

If budget isn't an issue, than get yourself a custom knife. Here are some of MY favorite knife dealers that I buy from.
