• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Summer Slip Joints

"If it's not damascus and it has that fish on the tang, it's got to be W2."

Don't know about that. I've got a fish on the tang, but my Sunfish forge slipjoint is 01 :)

It's a bigger fish though.
You got me! I did use a lot of 01 back in the mid 90s'. Good stuff!

Thanks for all the kind words folks. Much appreciated!

Here's a big one, 4.75" closed. Smokin stag and W2 blade steel at a 62 Rc hardness. :D

I should have snapped this photo after I got the shields in today, but wasn't thinking.

I sure am liking this latest batch of stag! More to come later later in the week.

I can´t wait to see these beauties finished Don.

I assume the stag is sambar? I´m asking cause I have a lot of good textured, and coloured red deer antlers and for small folder scales, I think they could be made thick enough, without getting into the pithed core.

Thanks for sharing.

Brian

Beautiful knives, Don...proud to own one.
