I'm looking for a good pair of shades.I have no experience in this subject.I usually get a $20-$30 pair every 6mo. or so,or whenever they get scratched up.

I've heard Oakley's are good.Opinions?

Must be highly scratch resistant.

Must have a very light, but strong frame(Ti is a plus).

No mirror lenses.:barf::D

I'm looking to spend about $80-$120(maybe a little more)

Thanks for your help.:)

Personally, I like Oakley and Maui Jim. During the winter I tend to wear glacier glasses some, but I always head back to my MJ's.

You can't go wrong with Oakleys. Great lenses, great frames. Good durability and stylish to boot. I even wear mine inside sometimes. -DT

I have not seen the latest line-up but the half-jackets I own are my favorites.

I've got a few pairs of aviators from randolph engineering, best glasses and most comfortable I've ever worn. Been using these for well over 20 years now. Check them out here Supplier to the US Gov

I love my oaks...I have the flakjackets. I wear perscription lens so being able to just replace the lens when my script changes is a real plus. I have polarized and I luv them, they actually cut down on the glare even in rainy or misty weather. Since you dont want mirror lenses then you should try oakleys black ice polarized.

Personally, I like Oakley and Maui Jim.

I've read good reviews of both. Check out Natives too. They have a lifetime warranty against any damage, though there is a swapping-out fee. If the models change, you have to take a newer model you might not like as much. Still, I've had a pair for years and recommend the brand.

I've been wearing a pair of Oakley Square Wires (Wire denotes metal frames) for the past 7 years now. They've held up great. My prescription glasses are also Oakleys.

I am a big fan of my HalfJackets. I like that I can exchange different lenses for different light conditions. My eyes are a touch on the sensitive side after surgery.

I still haven't bought a new pair,& my current ones are falling apart.:o

Can anyone recommend a pair of sun-glasses that DO NOT Squeeze your nose,Squeeze your head, are extremely lightweight,& cost under $100.(preferably closer to $50)?

Know where to get them?Shoot me a PM,to avoid the deal spotting rule.

Thanks

Get an older pair of Oakleys (non polarized). The Half Jackets shouldn't run you more then $100.

Some of the best sunglasses I owned.

Otherwise, price range points to Natives (try REI[.com]) though I have no experience with them myself.

Thanks Josh,I'll check them out.

Is sunglasshut.com a good dealer?

Oakleys are nice, but they will still get scratched. From my experience, anything will scratch falling 5ft onto concrete, rocks etc. I'd recommend raybans. They look great, and they come with a hard leather case. You can get many styles from $80-$100.

Not saying oakleys are bad. But you have to spend a bit more for polarization or iridium in certain colors. They are also very light, but so are the pastic raybans. Most oakleys seemed to hug around the face more though so less sunlight, wind and other debree will get in.

I'd go for oakleys if your going to beat the crap outta them. Or maybe your looking for style and quality, in that case I'd go for the raybans.

Either way your good, hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips MalaBala:thumbup:

Oh & Welcome to Bladeforums :)

I should've stated that I don't really like plastic frames.I'm more into aviator type gasses with thin metal or Ti frames.I know Ti = $$,so It doesn't have to be Ti,but definitely not plastic.

For glare protetction and quality, Maui jims are my favorite. They are however, pricey. Oakleys are built well. Save a few extra bucks, and get polarized lenses. Its well worth it.

Ive got the Oakley A-wire and they have a nice thin frame. Theyre pretty nice and comfy plus they offer good UV protection, but they DO get scratched though. Dont know what they cost in the US.

Has anyone mentioned Costa del mars? Very scratch resistant. The sales person at the place where I just got my sunglasses demonstrated it by rubbing on use lens with a key. Wiley's aren't bad either
