Finally got out for a real nature walk yesterday afternoon! My 4yo daughter was the self-proclaimed "leader" of this expedition, so she was on point. The trailhead is literally six blocks from my house on the other side of the river. It was about 1.5 miles round trip through some wetlands in the river bottoms. Real nice area...here's some pics.

Thanks guys...I'm just glad she likes the outdoors, being on our nature walks, and spending time with me. She has a thing for bugs, so next time we are taking the bug catching nets. We'll probably end up using them on the frogs though! :D I hope she continues love the outdoors. -Matt-

Great pics! My girl is the same age, and allways wants to lead the way as well!

She's a cutie, its great that you get some time out with her!

Very nice. Enjoy every moment with her. My son is almost 17 and prefers the company of his buddies to that of his old man. That's cool...I know he has to go through this....but when we talk about the times we used to hike together when he was a nipper he remembers all those time fondly. Make the memories....they never go away...it's your gift to her.

I went out with my twin 3.5 yr old girls on sunday as well. I love the time on the trail with them- even if you have to recalculate how long things take;)

Looks awesome man.

I'm hopefully taking the family (wife, 4yr old girl, 18mo old girl) to Fall Creek Falls this weekend for some fun. Oldest one calls it the "jungle." :-)

Good on ya for getting them outside and teaching them to love what most never understand.

Very nice. What a lucky little girl to have you for a dad!

Those Kellam's are nice too ~ really like thier sheaths.

Must be a great feeling getting out there with your kid. Looks like she had more fun than you, always a positive. Thanks for sharing.

Take her out as often as possible 'Ol Bud... They are only little once :(
The things you do with her now will last in her mind a life time ;)

Grease man,

Its amazing how far the little ones will hike with you, given the chance... Looks like you guys had a great time:thumbup:

Very cool little place. How often to overlook the little oases right under our noses?

Great post! Cute little one too; she is adorable!

OK, I just have to ask. I see what looks like one of my favorite knives in this picture; an Ahti Finman. Where did you find it in yellow?!? I'm assuming it is the Ahti that is rebranded by Kellam in their S-Line?
