Sale ad:
http://www.bladeforums.com/threads/crk-large-plain-sebenza-21.1503996/#post-17275386

After calling it in the sale thread he asks me via PM to come down on the price. "will you take 270? if not whats the lowest you'll take? I'm asking this cause idk how dull then knife is."

I should have know right then he was going to be a problem but I responded with: " It is hair popping sharp, it just needs to be stropped in my opinion. Since I'm not keeping it though I'm not going to mess with it.

All that being said. I'd take $290 and I can ship it first thing tomorrow.

Andrew"

Today he received the knife and sends this message. "I got the knife and its in a lot worst condition than i thought... First the knife was super dry and has really bad lock stick i cleaned it and it got better but still there and it has surface rust on the blade where the washers so it feels gritty un like my other sebenzas plus it has a lot more snail trails then the pics showed... if these don't get fixed i want a refund and you paying shipping cause its un fair to to sell someone a knife like that.."

Then this one. "It feels like this isn't the OG blade cause it has so much lock stick."

Before sending both of these messages he sends one to the seller I got the knife from who backed up my description and refused to corroborate his claims.

I replied to the messages above with this:
"Hahahahahahahahahaha.......

I provided many pictures of the handle and blade condition. You not examining the pictures prior to purchase does not make me responsible for your preconceived notions.

There was no lock stick when it left my hands. I also disassembled it the day I took the pictures for the ad to clean and lube it. There wasn't a spec of rust on it.

Also, I came down on the price after you had called it at the advertised price because you were scared of the edge/bevel, which I also described accurately through PM and provided pictures of.

Had there been rust or lock stick I would have contacted the guy I got it from to ask questions. By the way, the guy I bought it from already let me know you contacted him about it. He's prepared to back me up.

Lastly, I won't be paying for anything. You disassembled it, it's your baby now. Had you not done this we possibly could have worked something out. Since these problems did not exist while it was in my care I can only assume you caused them during disassembly and reassembly.

Good luck with it.

Andrew"

Seller beware.

Dude are you for real? that thing was BONE dry and it has more lock stick than a walmart knife HAHAHA

I took it apart to clean it thats all. Chris reeve even says to take apart the knife and clean it if needed plus I've had sebenzas since i was 14 and I'm 18 now i know how to clean a sebenza. I know how a sebenza is supposed to work I'm not dumb..

Not being slathered with lube does not make it bone dry. It doesn't need to be dripping to be properly lubed. Again, no lock stick in my hands.

No one said you are "dumb". Inattentive and remorseful for spending that much maybe. If you truely had a problem with it when you received it you should have contacted me then, not after you disassembled it and used your years of knife knowledge to concoct problems.

Not only that you bought it then once you got it you put it up for sale..

Yeah. Had you done a little more research you'd see that is pretty much my M.O., I'm very picky and want to like Sebenzas so I keep buying them. For some reason I just don't keep them, it's the same with PM2s, Blurs and Hinderers.

It was BONE DRY and it had a lot of lock stick if you would have respond with a normal pm like a normal human being you would have known that i FIXED it LOL but nah you decide to make a whole thread about this.. Not only that you are straight up lying.. grow up

Op I would chalk this up to lesson learned and walk away you don't owe him squat he took the knife apart it's his now. Buyer you said I'd take it for the the posted price and the pulled some bullshit to get 10 bucks off? You then complain about the knife condition which isn't bad his link to the sales thread and plenty of pictures posted in it shows that. Then take it apart that knife is yours now I would never take a knife back after the buyer says he took it apart and I hope the op doesn't either. Your buying practices here are shady as hell and deserve what you get out of this post.

Excellent, I'm glad to hear it worked out and that your plethora of knowledge was able to see you through a hard time. I'll work on growing up and my moral character, thanks for epiphany BRO. Are we done here now?

Your mature enough to own and appreciate Sebenza's, but don't understand what "I will take it" means ?

You may want to work on that so you do not appear dumb.

It's common courtesy and frankly common sense to not disassemble a product before asking for a return. Sure, if Chris Reeve said disassemble it and he won't void the warranty, then go ahead. But you didn't buy this from Chris himself you bought it from a second hand market and the rules are different. The seller has no obligation to you after you disassembled because it can't be reasonably believed that the issues existed before you disassembled.

If you have a problem with a purchase send it back ASAP. I bought a knife that was not as described and immediately contacted the seller, and he graciously offered me options for a refund. I bet A-MAC would've done the same
