Super Gladius?!

the only things i had them change is to add 10" to the blade and 1" to the handle. in retrospect i prob should have had them thin it out a bit as it is a bit blade heavy. even so its not too unwieldy and feels like it could be used to cut through a car. As for a comparison to the THE gladius it seems to be almost identical from the pictures i have seen.
 
Very nice azoth, thanks for the pic. I requested a quote just a few weeks ago for one with a 1" longer handle and just a 1.5-2.0" longer blade than the original (which would have brought it to the small end of historically accurate based on what I have researched) and was quoted $3000 for satin. I passed on that. I was very disappointed though. To me the Satin one I had at the time was the perfect gladius in every way save it's small size. It was quite something but had to let it go for just that reason. To be honest I was hoping they would eventually make one close to that size as an offering but now they have one much larger. Sadly, much like the butaniku, now there's 1 too big and 1 too small. I need a goldilocks addition of both.

Danboy, what do you think of the short butaniku?
 
while i think an in between size would be awesome, i don't know if my wallet could handle it.
 
Haven't rec'd mine yet. I know I will like it more than the original, that thing is crazy. I also know what size sword works for me and most folks my size while maintaining a good balance which is 26-27" blade with a 13-13.5" grip. They did say they could do the blade length without too much trouble and extra cost but the lengthening of the handle would be what incurs the heavy price tag. Just can't do a sword that's too unbalanced. That being said the short should work nicely, just wish it would have a bit more reach.
