I have a super rare custom Ken Onion Taboo bolsterlock with IKBS and it’s a manual flipper (non-speed safe) - the smoothest and fastest flipper I've handled (flips open like a rocket, drops shut like it's on glass). There were only 2 IKBS non-speedsafe Taboos made some 13-15 years ago (I cannot quite remember), and each one was different in colour. There was a light blue one (I believe Ernie Filatov has it, or once had it) and this other bronze one of mine. They were from a USN show I believe but cannot quite confirm as it's a long time ago.
It’s got all the refinements that Ken is known for - crowned and polished spine and backspacer, handrubbed and polished blade, orange peeled titanium clip, fluted titanium frame with fluted G10 scales, and the action is glassy smooth - flips open like magic, unlocks without a hint of stickiness and falls close like gravity. My eyes are no longer as good as they were 15 years ago but I think I remember there’s a minor ghost etch somewhere (I can’t find it or photograph it) and a tiniest snail trail (I can’t find it or photograph it either) near the IKBS logo but this is DEAD MINT from Ken. I can’t find the marks because I don’t have the 20/20 vision I used to have 20-30 years ago. The edge still pops hairs. I’ll include the pictured pouch but it didn’t come with any.
It has remained in my safe all these years.
$2,350 via paypal, shipping and fees on me. As my friend is going home for the summer in Ohio at end June, this will be handcarried back to the US, then mailed domestically from there. I will meet my friend next week, so the sale is open till then.
