Super strong lockbar tension on ZT0562CF

So yeah guys, my new ZT0562 has pretty insanely strong lockbar tension and i could barely disengage it one handed. Initially when i got it this Monday, it had an super strong detent and lockbar, making flipping the knife a literal pain. However the detent has since broken it better but the lockbar is still really strong.
Should i disassemble the knife to push the lockbar out to release some of that tension? Or should i just keep playing with it and hopefully the lockbar would also break in like the detent did?

It will quite likely become less rigid over time. Feel confident in the knowledge that until then, the likelihood of the blade closing on your fingers is quite low.

I'd suggest strongly against taking apart a folding knife unless it is absolutely necessary esp if it is a brand new knife. In the minimal case it will mark up screws and in the worst case it may create new issues like off centering of the blade or blade play (esp if pushing the lockbar outward). New ZT0562cf's are known to have strong lockbar tension, which translates to strong detent and snappy action, which many folks prefer. I'd just continue to open and close it non stop while watching TV :D

BTW, is the gritty action gone?

No, seriously my thumb skin is all squished up being pressed so hard against the bar all the time, not because of thumb strength.

Yup its still there. I'm not too sure how to describe it, its not gritty like scraping or creaking, but more like on a bumpy surface? Still could be dirt or something i guess. But thanks for the input, appreciate it!

My new 0562cf was making some noise when I worked the blade back and forth, by hand. A few drops of light pellet gun oil, dropped in each side of the bearing cages, with a needle applicator has it working silently. No problem with the lockbar though, although it is nice and solidly stiff.

Rinse the pivot and detent ball track areas thoroughly with hot soap water. When doing so, open and close the blade so that dirt and gunk stuff if any can get out. Then blow dry the knife with compressed air. If you want, a tiny drop of tuf glide in the detent hole will usually make it smoother.

Thanks guys, will try the hot soap water cleaning. However i do not have fancy lubes as i don't live in the US so am quite limited to the stuff the vendors here have, so just currently a victorinox lube that is decent, but am thinking of getting a Daiwa reel oil that is available. Thanks again, and meanwhile i will tell the tip of my thumb to quit being a little b*tch😉

Try using your thumb layed flat , so instead of using the tip your using the ball, more surface area that way makes contact.

Huh, i think that seems to work better😮 thanks ya!
I forgot to mention that this is my first Ti-framelock, so have been using the same method to disengage as my liner locks. Guess framelocks just have heaps more tension😛

Yep, just ram your thumb in held straight to the knifes length and push. I can get a lot more leverage like that and you have twice as much flesh making contact = less pressure on your thumb in one area.

mine is the opposite. make sure its not a clone first. do you have photos? its pretty easy to tell if its a clone by the carbon fiber itself.

if you know how to take knives apart i would do so else let a pro do it. the pivot could be too tight, or theres an issue with the lockbar.

ZT have good warranty, send it in and get it resolved.

Doubt it is, since i got it from my trusted bricknmortar retailer which i currently get all my knives from. But here are some:

Make sure you aren't pushing on the base of the lockbar with your other fingers, its really common for people new to frame locks to do that.
