hey guys,
here is a small batch of simplistic japanese cutlery.
japanese made blades are sharp but could be a lot sharper - I'll leave that to you (aogami / super aogami will take and keep a scary edge).
fit and finish are as good as it gets - no glue stains nor tang hole burning.
tang holes drilled and filed, glued and pinned down.
concerning the materials:
- bog oak - oak harvested from riverbeds/bogs, found only on few locations on Earth.
pieces I use are at least a couple of thousand years old, extremely dark with silver streaks.
- hawthorn / boxwood - hardest wood (shrub, actually) found in Europe, dense, elastic - with extremely small pores and fine grain.
used by Romans and Greeks for spear shafts, tool/weapons handles.
ok, that's it.
drop me a message for questions and suggestions.
cheers,
Mile
