Support France, Opinel day.

France has a long and illustrious tradition in cutlery. The Opinel expresses the universal knife, there are numerous other knives that reflect her cutlery prowess, this Renaud Aubry Laguiole is just one of them. Those who died, those who suffer with injuries, those who are left behind are very much in all decent peoples' thoughts.

Great idea for a thread, Carl! I'd love to join you, but unfortunately I'm traveling and that means I only have access to my SAK Cadet. Hmmmm, maybe I'll be able to pick up a new Opinel before I return home. :D

In support of our friends in France, I've decided to declare a French cutlery day for myself. This of course means one of my Opinels. Anyone else care to join me? Any French cutlery will do!

Quelle idée ! C'est tres bien, Jacques!

Vive La France!

My Great Great(?) Uncle (Great Grandfather's brother) was sent to France in WW I. I don't know if he acquired a French knife before he was killed in battle. Being an "Iowa Farmboy" he may have gotten one somewhere for a souviner.
I'll carry my Opinel #8 today, in memory of all the brave lads who did not make it home from France, in either war, and in recognition of the French cutlery tradition.

My Great Grandfather was gassed to death in the trenches in WWI and my Grandfather went ashore on D-Day. France, stay free! Used my Opinel 6 today, incredible food knife.
