Support France, Opinel day.

One of these two is almost always in my pocket, no matter what else I am carrying. This week it has been the No.6

In many ways France has been my country's greatest ally.
I love Opinel knives. They are elegantly functional. My favorite light to medium duty slicing folder.
They weigh nothing. I think most of them float.
My only gripe is I want all the models in carbone. Except maybe the shellfish and filet knives. No even the filet knives lol. Not a fan of stainless and that thin flat grind high carbon gets incredibly sharp.

Carry these every day, great knives and Gary, nice shot there sir!

My family and I recently returned from a 3-week camping trip to Newfoundland, Canada. While there we visited a museum dedicated to showing what life was like for the very hearty, rugged fishermen back in the day. For centuries there the main source of income was the cod fishing industry. Entire families' existence depended on what they could bring in from the sea. They worked incredibly hard to eek out a living so, as you can imagine, the tools they relied on had to be up to the task. I caught a glimpse of this well worn Opinel. I can only imagine what it's been through.
