Surefire E2e HA arrived!

I knew better than that. On first inspection the thing doesn't looked used at all. I'll put it through the rounds this weekend.

So you were just screwing with me in that e-mail about a ding?? :( You had me all concerned:)

I was serious about the ding. It is on the outer rim of the light. I felt it with my finger while getting use to how it felt in my hand. No big deal. The color is still on it. This thing is bright in the daylight... No worries dude. We're suppose to use the thing right!!!!!:D

SureFires should be used and gain "character marks". Almost all of the SureFires I have have got dings and such. They aren't [just] to look at!

Al :)

Ok, the light has two little dent to allign for the push button to work or turn 1/4 of a turn and on all the time. Turn one full turn counter clockwise and it's "locked out". Question: wouldn't a ball dent or something like that be better than just turning it? Then it would be "locked out". One more thing, the pocket clip isn't as tough as I had pictured. I have found that it slips up in my pocket and it fell out while I was changing my pants last night. I have abought 30 min. burn time on the batteries and there is a noticable decrease in the light's intensity. This could be because I'm using panasonic 123s.:( I don't mean to sound negative. I still think it's a great light so far.

Does the clip touch the body, or is there a gap?
I find the short clip (like the E2e has) to give very good retention and remain clipped to my trouser pocket during all sorts of activities. Certainly a great improvement over the E2 clip.
This leads me to think that your E2e clip isn't pressing hard enough against the body. This can be altered if this is the case.

The output runtime curve for the E2e is pretty flat but it is not an A2 and so the intensity will decrease over runtime (especially when use constant-on) You should get at least a good solid hour of clean white light. I only use SureFire SF123As so perhaps the drop after the initial "high" isn't so great?

Al, there is a small gap between the clip and the body. Is this clip removable? How can you fix the clip if it becomes sprung?

Thanks Dean

Cool to see that everyone is enjoying their time with the E2e. I'm gonna hold back an "I told you so." :)

I had to tighten up my clip, since I prefer them to be very tight. To do this, remove the bezel, carefully remove the washer in front of the clip, and insert a piece of paracord or shoelace inside the clip. Then pull the clip off. You can also use pliers if you don't mind the clip getting nasty looking.

Then just throw the clip into a vise and slowly apply pressure. You might want to be very careful with the passaround, though I doubt the steel is hardened enough to snap before it bends.

If perchance the pocketclip should break, a call to SureFire Customer Service, explaining the pass-around situation (and how great the E2e is etc) may help in getting you some replacement clips.

Pocket clip fixed. Thanks guys. Now I feel more comfortable carrying it and it don't slide at all. Three more days and it's time to pass it on.

Shipped the E2e to Brian today. The only light I had to compare it to was a Brinkmann LX. The LX appeared to be as bright as the E2e. The LX is heavy and big. The E2e small, lite, and bright. Built like a tank. After I fixed the pocket clip I loved it. The thing rides in the pocket unoticed. I found reasons to use it and didn't use up one set of batteries in a week. I did have a small drop in brightness but I figure that was due to an older set of 123s (I used a set I already had). Once I get my Dozier knife payed off I hope to own an E2e with a KL1. Or maybe I'll be the BIG winner of this one.:D ;) :p :D

Done and Mailed.

I had to change the shipping box as well, because my Post Office isn't very carefull with boxes and such.

That being said:

Interesting light.

I'm more curious to see the M2 after playing with the E2e.

Brian

Well I recieved the light today and my fist impression is...WOW, Will give a small review later. Oh it also puts a 3 D M*g light to shame!

Well the light was shipped off today. The only light I really had to compare it to was a 3 D Mag and it was definatley no match for the E2E. I also have a Surefire E1E HA and I prefered the E2E HA over that even though it is slightly bigger. This is definatley on my "Have to have" list and will probably end up buying it if I don't win it. I also have a confession to make, I accidentaly dropped it and put a few small dings on the bezel.:( Sorry! But if it comes back to me it will all be good! :D If you would like to see a couple of pics I took including some of the dings then go Here Thanks!

Ryan W

Ah, don't worry about the dings. It'll be alright. It was bound to happen eventually. Just gives it a little character.

Mike
