Surplus USMC Survival Kit

I wrote a column on it in SWAT. Listed Cheaper Than Dirt as the source. The sold out. Anyone know where a brother might buy more of these?

Jeff do you happen to know the issue that the article was in? I would enjoy reading it.... don't get SWAT magazine, but I am sure they sell old issues...

EDIT: sorry I searched my normal Army surplus haunts, and couldn't find anyone with the kit for ya :(

I's not a good thing for the readers though. If I would have known that they would sell out that quick I would have pulled the article.

Mr. C: I'll have to go back and look. Right now I am not at my place since power has been off there since 10:30 last night.

I though it was a good article /review of a age old kit with the basics, the wire saw you pointed out made me think twice about it,I never pack one b/c I see them as useless to a degree.... but you raised a good point about them..

No hurry... just really enjoy reading your articles... :) Will check the newstands as TTD suggested too, but locally I don't see SWAT mag often.

Hope ya get power back soon.. :)

January 2010 on the SWAT & Bear the dog (RB) has an excellent review of the HEST & RC firekit/E&E kit in TK mag ,January 2010 as well

Is that the one with the write up Jeff did on the folder...? (Big, wide ugly thing).

Will look for that one too, thou my local Magazine stand has pulled almost anything that has tactical or gun in the name :(

Yup. He reviewed a Surefire folder. :)

I read your article yesterday Jeff, and now I want one of those kits to!

Yup, I had to drive down to Keene to find the magazine... might head down again tonight and actually buy it instead of hanging out drinkin coffee and reading it, then putting it back...

Thats what I do , buy a coffee and read the magazine. I tend to buy only the issues that are full of info I cant retain at that moment, and keep them for reference. If I bought & kept all the magazines I read, I would be on the next "Hoarders" episode, divorced......hmmm:p (just kidding dear :))

I'm the same way. It never fails about a month after giving some magazines away or throwing them away I want read a certain article that I know longer have.
