Surprise News at Buck ?

Looks to have a great background and I expect this is a good move for Buck or CJ would not have done it.
The only concern for us will be his attitude towards the collecting community, limited editions, and SFO's.
I suspect supporting BCCI is more gratis than profit.

My question to the rest of you...
How much impact do you think the presence of a small group of aficionados thru collecting
and forum activity
actually have on brand recognition in a real economic sense?

I don’t know for sure, I think if the right kind of change or adjustments are brought that should help but I think it depends on the culture and demographics. While I see some of the younger generation showing less interest in knives, my grandkids seem to have more/some interest. Maybe because of my influence and seeing how many knives I have, carry and use. So I think that has an impact on the use and acceptance of knives in general.

The same for different states, here in Kansas it’s wide open for knives, any knife, no length limit, automatics, switch blades, concealed or open carry anywhere but places like the courthouse, schools and such, with the only exception being projectile knives and throwing stars. Then there’s other states that are still very restrictive and that has a quelling effect.

I also think imports have an effect. We’ve seen how that has changed things for companies like Camillus and Schrade and others.

I don't think we as a group on BF have much of an impact on the knives Buck sells. I think we're a good group for random product release and reviews. Even the BOTM knives. We might only buy a dozen or so. 480 plus are sold across the country. Alot of people abandoned BF, mainly due to allowing individuals to constantly disrupt the flow here without consequence. The last disruption almost had me leave as well. Good group in here with new names popping up all the time and zero issues.
