The latest off the bench:

"Surprise!"
Blade:7" x 3/16" laminate of an old file and wrought iron with bolted tang, copper "seppa"(??), flat ground with 2000 grit hand rubbed finish and a polished heavy etch.
Handle: 4 5/8", hand carved solid moose antler with "antiqued" finish, copper and mild steel spacers and a guard of heavily etched wrought iron. The carved butt plate assembly consists of mild steel and copper spacers and a heavily etched, peened, plug of wrought iron baring my "PM" maker's mark.
Sheath: Fully lined, 172 year old Nova Scotia Black Spruce barn board with peened, and forged copper bands. The harness is Wicket & Craig 6-7 oz veg tanned leather with an antiqued moose antler bead and a forged copper maker's mark tag at the base of the belt loop. Nice snug fit.

note: after I took these initial shots, I realized I needed to shorten the moose antler bead on the sheath. So, I have added a shot at the end of the altered/ finished sheath and knife.

Thanks for looking,

Peter

Here's a few shots:

This is the sheath with the altered/shortened bead. My camera battery expired at this point.

Well I came here to add to my thread, but decided to stop by here. I am so glad I did. Every piece is very nice, the handle, the guard, the laminated blade, the sheath, and the harness, but all together this is a great package, very nice work.

I greatly appreciate all the kind words folks. I had some fun making this one. Its heading into the gallery today.

Peter

Apparently Peter has a nice package, but you didn't hear that from me. But Brian, Phil, Salem, and the Geek know about it. Dang Peter, you must get around! :D;)

The nice think about this knife is the amount of detail. From the sheath to the handle to the guard, it all ties together, and there are plenty of things to catch your eye.

Hey hey hey hey, wait a minute. I claim innocence. It's just that Brian and Phil are such super cool guys that if they agree something is a "nice package" I fall all over myself to copy them. I don't know, but I suspect the Geek was just jumping on the bandwagon at this point, too. In fact Nathan, I idolize your sheer charisma to such an extent that I'm just hurt by your meanness to me. (Sulk.)

Wow. That was good for a couple yuks. Seriously though Peter, I really like the rustic copper and barn board look on the sheath. It just looks good!
