Survival drink !!!

Smithwick's, Guiness, St.Paulie girl, Corona or Dosequis(in the summer with alime after a long day in the field) OOOOOOO I'm going home early today

Umm, not a drinker of alcoholic beverages, so I would like to throw in my 2 pence worth and suggest.................

E'mergen-C

It helps to rehydrate, or just keep you hydrated, by replacing electrolites that are used up during the course of the day.

If you have kids along, I would also suggest a powdered drink mix that flavors the treated water. Sure makes it go down a lot easier than without.

As I'm Euro I have some SUSPICIONS about American beer...but only because dozens of Americans have told me so!

Golden Pheasant from Slovakia goes down VERY smoothly:thumbup:
Budovar from Czech Republic

Many German beers

Pelforth from France

Best of all in the ALE league is from England. Marston's Extra Strong Pale Ale 6.5% alcohol so take it steady:D Also Bishop's Finger (you don't want to know where it's been but..)The English are right about ale it should not be drunk TOO COLD.

In America you actually make the world's best whiskey-bourbon.Forget all that Scotch or Irish toot, American whiskey is THE spirit!

Raging thirst now drool:thumbup:

dont drink alcohol but love my black tea and nothing beats a cup of hot chocolate to warm up the body and soul before i go to sleep.

Dos XXs, Boulavard pale ale, (and boulavard wheat of course). Sam Adams winter lager, Lienkugels sunset wheat, and a Ice cold budweiser bottle seems to hit the spot on a hot afternoon.

lakeport honey brown, gunniess..I don't drink much beer. Wine and liqour is my survial drink of choice since neither requires refridgrating.

As I follow a low carb diet, I can't drink beer and have to stick to very expensive scotch (it's low carb!).

I do have the occasional break from the low-carbing though. Then, my usual is Guinness if I'm in a pub or Castle Moniack Mead if I'm home or hiking.

My all-time favourite used to be Old Fart. It's not brewed the same anymore, having been sold (real shame).

Old Fart used to be brewed locally at the Robinwood Brewery, just up the road from me in Lancashire, England. The little brewery was behind the pub, which iwa of course, the best place to drink it. 'Drink it' is not entirely accurate though; it hada lot of chew to it, that beer!

Some friends and I once bought a big tub of Old Fart; I think it was 8 gallons. We put it in the boot (trunk to you non-Brits) of one car and started a 300mile drive to our campsite. About four hours later, I, in the car following the 'beer' car, started to notice a pleasant, fruity smell. I got on the CB and asked Dave to pull over. We investigated his boot to find that the Old Fart had started secondary fermentation, burst the tub, and soaked into all the bedding which had been packed around the tub to protect it.

Dave never did get rid of the smell and had to sell his car.

Not to worry though; our campsite was a short crawl to an old pub that sold real, cloudy, home-made scrumpy. Serious brain-death stuff.

Happy memories!

heh i dont drink but the few times i have it was iron city (im 16) i really dont like alcohol but my stove sure does....

Moosehead, yeah I drink that as well, quite good stuff !!!
My favourite canadian Brewary is Philips....they do one called Amnesiac, try some of that !!!

Googled it...sounds...interesting. Chocolate beer, expresso beer, 8.5% beer, rasberry wheat beer, Maple beer. I'll definetly try to get my hands on some. Doesn't look like they send a whole lot out east though
