I confess my palate has really deteriorated in the last several years. Budgetary concerns and my "12-pack abs" have put me pretty squarely in the Busch Light camp. *ducks as guys start throwing rocks at me and jeering*
However, occasionally even I want something that actually tastes good, for sure with a nice steak'n'shrimp dinner at the campsite. Then I'll splurge on St Pauli Girl or Grolsch. Molson Canadian and Golden are both pretty tasty, too. Rolling Rock has a real crisp, clean flavor that goes over great on a hot day at a BBQ. As you can guess, I'm not really into beers you have to chew
I'm also a bit of a bourbon fan... had to sneak down to the tavern last night (first time in months, it's amazing how boring I've become) for a couple shots of Jim Beam. I sip 'em, not slam 'em. Jack Daniels shouldn't even be called whiskey :barf: (maybe I just drank way too much of it when I was a kid and I thought it made me look cool and bad-ass, LOL) Someone mentioned Booker's; I've not tried a whole lot of top shelf bourbons but Booker's is about the best I've had so far. Evan Williams Single Barrel is good, as well. Old Rip Van Winkle is damn good, very smooth and it has that almost-caramel flavor to it. Which reminds me of some 20-yr-old Crown Royal a friend found in the basement of the bar he worked at... man, that was yummy. I don't know how much it changed in all that time, or if was just that much better back then, or what. But it smoked any new CR I've ever had (which of course is pretty good anyway).
I like my beer good and cold... many moons ago when I tended bar, we kept a case of Point bottles on the floor
outside the cooler for this one old Polish farmer who liked it
warm.
I better quit adding to this, it's makin' me thirsty and I have work to do today...
