Survival kit on plane trips

If you are flying on the commercial airliners and have to go through security, basically you are DOOMED! I sometimes wonder if the security controls were put in place to promote highjackings. After all its really easy to highjack and control a plane when everyone is un-armed. :grumpy: I don't think 9-11 could ever happen if an international agreement was reached that would allow all passengers and crew to carry handguns and knives (swords too). Would you really want to try to take over a plane full of armed passengers? When 9-11 happened all it would have taken to prevent the crash would be for an 80 year old granny to point her Glock at the highjacker and say 'SONNY YOU SIT DOWN RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE YOU ARE INTERUPING THE MOVIE FOR ME AND EVERYONE ELSE!' . Perhaps another thought for airline security would be that passengers would be required to be armed inorder to board a plane. Simple rule: No knife, No gun, then no flight with us today. :jerkit: As for bombs and explosives, there really needs to be more focused searches to prevent these from entering the plane. No body needs or wants a bomb on a plane. For personal aircraft I would recomend making sure you keep the damn thing flight worthy, yes it costs money but money cannot replace your life. Carry your handgun and knives on your belt, so that they are with you incase you have the unfortunate reason to dump it short of the runway. A big sheath knife like pig sticker is great for cutting your way out of the wreckage. The handgun will provide food in an emergency, and to fire shots for distress puposes. You may need your gun to maintain order and safety. Carry up to date fire extinguishers, an Axe. Carry matches firestarters and a good first aid kit. Pain killers, and a plastic bottle filled with your favorate hardstuff. Glass booze bottles tend to break. It also helps to make sure you have enough gas, and did you check the weather forecast and the weather for your alternate landing sites? If in doubt don't set out.
