I hand forge only high carbon steel blades. I do not feel that corrosion resistance should be a major factor when selecting the knife you have described. This is because with minimal and routine maintenance a WELL MADE carbon steel knife will be fine.
That said, the construction of some of the knives I have seen makes corrosion a problem. The Marble's often have visible gaps between the ricasso shoulders and the tang. Water WILL get in there and the knife will likely fail from corrosion. Not the blade, which can be easily maintained, but the tang, which is hidden in the handle.
I would go with a Becker or Swamp Rat if you want to save money. If you want to spend the whole $300, you could get a basic camp knife from a couple of very excellent bladesmiths (Tai Goo comes to mind immediately).
