Survival knife TV commercial

Didn't even have to see it to know what it was! I got one from my dad for Christmas when I was 6, mom was pissed. She told him that I would cut myself with it and raised a big stink. I did cut myself with it about an hour after I opend it, I can still see the scar on my middle knuckle.

Yup... Had one too. I think I eventually broke mine. Also, the compass could unscrew from the handle and be used as a bobber with the fishing kit.

Circa the 80's, THE best survival knife you could get (for 10 bucks!) :D
Yes I did own one of these when I was about 12. My dad told me it was junk, but I wanted it and bought it with my own money at a gun show.

As did I T. My Grandad bought me a Buck 110, and my Dad gave me a Army Surplus folding pocket knife (much like a SAK), but I NEEDED to have that survival knife to be a SERIOUS outdoor survivor.

Funny stuff.

I found one of those in my grandpa's car after he died. It looked old and used. I think Rambo inspired him (also a veteran and former POW) more than he admitted... ;)

I didn't, perhaps that shows my age? Anyways, that was an awesome commercial. Someone should send $10 to that address to see what happens lol.

O.k i still have one... My dad got me one and i never liked it, so put it away... Been cleaning my stuff a month ago and i found it again... Now i got no idea where i put it ... But im sure its in the house...

I'll admit I wanted one when I was younger...never got to buy one. Look what I missed out on! I could have kept the sheath and the sharpening stone! What was I thinking? :P

I had one. Don't remember what happened to the sheath, but I know I lost the compass. Then the survival supplies fell out. Turns out the cap from a shampoo bottle was a perfect fit. Eventally the screw that held the blade onto the handle worked loose. I finally tossed it.

Turns out it was the only thing my parents ever bought at one of those membership warehouses. A few years later my mom jokingly said my $10 Survival knife ultimately cost close to $50.

I had one. I think I paid $5.00 for mine. I recall it wasn't very sharp nor could I get it that way. Rather disappointed in 420 molecular stainless steel :(

The matches didn't work on it, but there was fishhooks and some fishing line. I like the part in the commercial - "even if you decide not to keep the knife, you can keep the sheath absolutely free". Why? Because the sheath was a cheap vinyl piece of junk that tore at the stitching within days of using the knife.

Fond memories!

I still have one and I am holding it right now. I remember breaking the wire saw the first time I tried to use it and how the vinyl sheath just sort of decomposed when it was about three years old. The fluid in the compass has since run a little dry but other than that it's just as impressive as it was in 1985! :D

HA! Had one too. My uncle got it for me when I was a teenager. Rusted in my trunk. So much for molecular stainless steel.

What I really wanted was the survivalist belt buckle that dude was wearing...cool! :D

you know i had one of those T...:o i actually had 2...:D that video brought back fond memories...

I had a couple when I was a kid. Total crap, my dad told me so, but I still had to have one..

I was at my parents during easter and my dad was giving me some stuff of mine I had stored there.... and he's like "Oh, and here's your survival knife, you'll need this
for camping." I said... "ummm. thanks but no thanks." Wow, what an amazing piece of crap.

I bought one of those for my kid when he was little. He's grown and moved out, but I think the knife is still floating around here somewhere.

If your between 30 and 40, then probably most of us here had one....whether WE admit it or not! :D

PS, I had the cool camo one!
