Survival knife

Esee-6

Edit: Why is the forum removing the caps on "E S E E" ???

Have you checked out Blackjack? I saw another thread that mentioned them recently. I don’t know much about them myself, but there starting to look nice.

Good luck finding one.

They aren't particularly sexy, but they are hard to beat for value: http://www.ennis-entrekusa.com/

Please note that the prices on their website are essentially MSRP. You can find better deals elsewhere.

Exactly what I was going to mention. Ray Ennis and Entrek do magical stuff to the 440C to get the best it has to offer. Full tangs with 1/4" thickness on the bigger blades, and 3/16's on the smaller ones.

I don't know, but the Bison looks sorta sexy to me!

Here's one I had, but had to sale a couple years ago. Always have planned to get another one. Called the Cobra. Has a 4.0" clip point blade. Handles really nice!

I've used a Cold Steel SRK for 20 years, and highly recommend the product. Most of my use is backcountry hunting/survival, and the SRK has always done the job very well.

For all the new guys be sure to go over to the outdoors forum.

ESEE hmm...seems to work for me.

Say Heah Guys, It seems to me too that a 6" blade is a good all around size for field use whether in bush craft and hunting to survival. But I like it choil ed and a Saber Grind, but a Flat Grind is acceptable. I think I have a good stable of a mix batch of 6" blades. I have the Fallkniven A-1, Njord, a CarbonV S.R.K and one in San Mai 3, I also have a vintage Benchmade #156 in D2 and a combo edge, a Bokor BLACK Vox Rold and a Bokor Vox Collection 2011, a S.O.G. Trident 2.0, and a Buck 119 Special, my Bark River Bravo 1.5 is close enough to a 6" blade, I also had my Rodent 6 modified, I had the blade thinned down and the top gaurd taken off, it probably is my Fav's, they did a great job at their Custom shop. But in my Bokor Black Vox Rold, the handles are different on the Stonewall version because it has G-10 handles and the fit and finish is flush with the tang. On my Black Vox Rold the handle is Micarta, I think Linen Micarta and a Greenish handle but it's also not flush with the tang all away arlund. The scales appear to be a little smaller, but I wear a large glove and it feels and fits my hand great. I thought I would mention it. But mine I feel chops better because of the handle being a little slicer but it's still not too small for a large hand, but I feel it does chop easier because if that when I compare it to my buddies flushed G-10 handle. So Guys, if you can, feel the difference in the hand, I sort of wish I got the Stonewall model not because it's a G-10 but because I could match it with the Vox Scout because it doesn't cone in a black coating and only in the Stonewash, I hope this helps some one.

Out of the box suggestion:

I took a Scrade Extreme hollow handle knife and re-profiled it to a flat grind. The steel isn't fancy, but tough and one piece design unbreakable. But I wasn't really into it until I ground it down.
