Survival Knives...again.

I love my Fallkniven A1, it's the most dependable knife I own. Didn't cost too much either

look at the scookum bush tool thread, just got one and it is a very nice knife, well made rugged, and has an unbelievable edge. has a 4 inch blade, the flat butt of the knife will be very usefull in bushcrafty things.

I'm not a big fan of Cold Steel. My experience with them has been mostly negative. Lots of guys in the military have them because of their attainable prices, but they don't seem to survive the (overly) harsh punishment that even my Gerbers do. My Gerber BMF that I picked up back in 1992 came back for more and more with only a chip out of one of the teeth on the saw back (I wish I had gotten it without the saw back). Cold Steels SRK seem like an alright knife design but for just a few dollars more I could get a Ranger or Scrap Yard, which seem like MUCH better knives.

The reason a lot of military guys have cold steel is because AAFES The Army Air force Exchange Service only carries cold steel. I do like Cold Steel products myself, however Ijust wished that AAFES wold carry a wider selection. Cause the mail over here in Iraq isn't exactly fast.
