I want to a good survival knife that is under $150 if you know one please tell me (i would like PIC's).

Welcome to the Forums:).

Names to seriously consider that are in your price range:

Fallkniven (S1, A1): http://www.fallkniven.com/next-index.htm
Ranger Knives (RD6, 7 & 9): http://www.rangerknives.com/Knives/index.html
Scrap Yard Knives (Dumpster Mutt, Yard Guard, Yard Hook, Scrapper 6): http://www.scrapyardknives.com/knives.htm

I don't know how new you are to quality knives, but most tend to start their search based on some idea of what a "survival knife" is "supposed" to look like. The Names that I've suggested don't look very fancy compared to Hollywood type knives, but they will out perform just about any production knife in their price range.

u can also try Aitor jungle king I, www.aitor.com. i have one, it was 5 y or even more my outdoor knife and i can say is a good one ( i have a A1, a gerber trident, a seal 2000 so i can make a comparison :) )

ps "blood grooves" are a myth, they are called fullers and they ad stiffness to the blade, nothing else
...and reduce weight/affect balance.

As for survival knives, what kind of environment are you going to use it in, BG? I suggest carrying two blades in any case. A larger one of a type dictated by your expected surroundings and nature, and a smaller knife or a folder as well.

I agree with all the knives posted. I am especially fond of scrapyard

It would be hard to beat the brands listed above. I'd add to the list Becker knife and Tool which makes some really good, inexpensive knives. I think KA-BAR sells them now. I've also heard and read that the Cold Steel RSK is a good performer.

Swamp Rats are available for the time being but they're about $50 more than your price limit.

As you didn't specify any specific preferences except price range.
I would suggest a combination of a multitool, short fixed-blade and or a larger machette/khukree/golok/parang. Dropping brand names at this point of the conversation I think, is a lost cause. Everyone has a favorite/favorites.
Also, you may not have the means to acquire particular makes and types at a given required time.
Howerver, having said that - the Lofty Wisemen Survival Tool is probably not too well known outside of England, but it does have its merits as a serious contender for actual use in extreme survival situations. It's only too bad that it's well above your budget and probably a whole lot of deserving people too.

If you want a 6" blade the Bush Camp by Knives of Alaska is great. msrp $99
good 4" blades are Cold Steel Master Hunter, KOA Alpha Wolf. Also Bark River is fine.
In your price range you definitely have "over choice".

Ontario makes some fine knives for about $60 like the sp5 and sp10 i also have several beckers and both the ka-bar heavy bowies and can recommend either of them. my sk5 trailmaster just arrived today and looks to be a good knife for only $100.

+1 for Ranger's RD series. There's very few knives I'd trust in a survival situation. My RD9 is one of them.

Sorry for how vauge i was I want a nice looking one i know that sounds unproffetional but i want a atractive blade. i like the scrap yard knives also there nice looking and sound very good also. i am sick of gerbers folder knives and and most of ther fixed blade knives because of the cheap qulity. can someone tell me a good quality blade steel that they perfer and why?

I am getting 3 knives for X-mas to, the Ka-bar D2 extreme, Gerber LMF II, and the Ka-Bar Bull Dosier. I am going to use the geber for a survival knife and pair it up with the Ka-Bar Kukri i already have. If you think theres anything i need to know about the knives i just listed please let me know.

OH BY THE WAY IM ONLY 14 Almost 15 AND BEEN INTO KNIVES ALOT FOR ONLY LIKE 6 MONTHS SO YOU ARE RIGHT I AM NOT USED TO HIGH QUALITY KNIVES.

you should try over on the wilderness and survival training forum ALot of opinions there I'm a big fan of a fallkniven f-1 swedish survival knife a little swhorter than most in the blade but built like a tank....

Well there you go!
You have already made a fine selection of "survival Knives", I see...
And now, a little bias review on some particular khukrees, FYI.
