Survival Quiz

I did that one at work the other day. I only missed one. I don't agree with his answer on #13. I don't think you NEED a big chopper.

i scored 17 out of 20 but i also missed #13, which i don't necessarily agree with. i thought that any blade would be sufficient if used correctly.

You don`t need to boil water for 10 minutes!
I usually wait til starts to boil, and after many years I`m still here. And I never got sick because I didn`t wait those 10 minutes.

it is just a fun little quiz to pass the last few minutes of work... I do not agree with a few questions either but the site itself has some fun info.

Interesting. After more than a half century of woodsrunning and adventure, now I am going to die. 16 correct. But I used my answers, not those I suspected that the writer believed were correct. Chop? Why? To blaze a trail? You have to blaze a trail to survive? Cell phone? Why? Most are useless as a gameboy in mountain wilderness. Hell, mine won't even pick up at my rural house! Not eat fish and reptiles? Man. So much for the supper I am cooking. Well, they say I might survive.

Bryan!! Write one of these blinking survival quizes based on real world experiences please!:D

Load of highly subjective crap, survival situations are 100% RELATIVE to the situation. Guess I'm going to die since I don't carry a 9 foot Machete and my PSK doesn't have a cell phone in it.

18 out of 20. I agree with several of the posts here...I do not NEED a cell phone in the woods. Or a giant knife.

Here is something fun,I scored 16 out of 20 correct.

I scored 18 but I cheated.... I used answers that I thought the writer would want rather than what I thought was correct. If I used my own answers I would only have scored 15. I ran into the same problem in a grad school team building exercise. The book wanted you to keep your backpack waist belt fastened when crossing a steam, and in another scenario wanted you to try to walk out of the desert when your small plan crashed instead of staying with the aircraft. No matter what we said to the teacher, she insisted that because 'the book says,' our team lost points because of our choices. (We had a NOLS instructor and an retired SEAL in our group.)

The last time i went hiking, a game boy would have been of much more use than a cell phone (at least it doesn't need tower reception to work). A large knife cannot skin small game particularly well- like those small furry animals that you are supposed to be eating in preference of strange fish. A fire steel is a heck of a lot more reliable than a bic lighter. Okay, it said flint and steel, but my brain translated that to firesteel.

Oh well, I figure I have a 75% chance of finishing my hike alive.

HA HA !!!! I must be going to die because my choice was for flint and steel over the bic,( I figured it would last a lot longer and will work even AFTER being dunked in a stream!!) and I dont need a cell phone either!!! ( I have to drive 5 miles to get enough signal to make a call now!!) My score was 16.... Best to all. Ankrst6973

Exact same thing here...19/20. Although chopping is fun, it is far from being a necessity for surviving...

here is a hint or 2

14 D. prepare to kiss it good bye

16, the correst answer not there , it should be E. All Of The Above

As far as 13 Any knife would be better than nothing.

and on 18 or 19, I for get, the auther can eat blisyer bugs and hornets, I'll go find some perch.

I got 18, but that is scary.

15 but completely missed question 16. Don't know how I skipped it but I did. Easy one too. Should have been 17/20 but after reading the posts regarding the big knife, I answered honestly just to see the writers opinion of the correct answer.

I'll stick to my answer. Since location/situation wasn't given, you can't really say a big chopper is better.

I got 15
1.flint steel over a lighter
2.my RC-3 is on my belt all the time my kukri, isn't it a survival situation because
something unexpected happened.and you just happened to have a 10" Kukri please!!!
3.cell phone please oh my god my Treo sucks in rural areas too.
