Survival School/Coarses?

Marty,

You're welcome. I just call it like I see it.

Thanks for being such a strong part of making this a great forum, and for your kind words as well.

Anything in the vicinity of Kintuky? I'd love to take some Marty Simons courses, I've liked reading his stuff on here lately.

Talked it over with my dad trying to convince him to do Marty's with me this summer - He's a slave to his job though so I'm not holding my breath:grumpy:

I have my buddy convinced though, I just ordered some supplies: Quality sleeping bag(my current one blows) A basic Mora classic, some suvival/bushcraft reading material to study in the meanwhile, and a dry bag to keep all my junk in... Any other suggestions?

I have to wait for another paycheck or two before I can send in the registration though - but I can't wait for this summer now!

okay! I hope I'm not over steping my bounds but herre is one we're doing in June

Due to many emails and other correspondence asking us about live classes, concerning wilderness skills and survival, Christopher Nyerges, Dude McLean, and Alan Halcon burned the midnight oil to see what we could put together for our “Wilderness Way” readers.

Many phone calls, emails and meetings later, with potential instructors, ideas for classes and other details at last fell into place. What remained was a prime location.

After several hundred miles of scouting for “the place” that would offer a wilderness experience and yet be accessible for everybody, we found a great place, quietly nestled in the Sequoia National Forest amongst some of the biggest trees in the world.

Alan,

Good to see you here and glad you posted! Come back and hang around here.

Alan is a firestarter extraordinaire (not like Drew Barrymore in the movie, like "primitive." :D).

Alan, you're welcome to post here anytime with announcements! You know I'm close with Ron (did Vol 11 with him), and Mike Fuller and everyone at TOPS are some of my closest friends. Anything that helps them is more than okay by me. However, McCann doesn't belong nor deserve to be alongside the rest of you, IMHO.

Best,

Brian
