So another thread got me thinking: It's been mentioned that Survive is considering the idea selling customized knives. Pay a bit more, but get more features or customized options that are too tedious or complicated to do on the normal production model. So, i was thinking...

Imagine this scenario - You are walking past Survive's workshop in Idaho and one of Ellie's cats comes walking around from the back. Out of nowhere a deer comes running down the street - directly in line to steam roll the cat!!! You, in complete disregard for life and limb, dive to the rescue!! Swiping the cat up from underneath a massive descending hoof, while at the same time rolling and flipping in a cool move you wish someone could have captured and put on YouTube, you narrowly avert assured disaster.

Guy, in appreciation for your heroism, gives you a lock of beard hair (the benefits of which have been discussed in previous threads) and says he will take your S! knife (which of course you have on you at the time) and customize it in any way you'd like - completely free!

While your head is spinning from the adrenaline of the incident and the generosity of the gifts, you start to think of the possibilities....

GSO 7/7 with swedge, cerakoted black, textured G10 grips with liners and the Survive! logo on one side.

What would you choose?

Take my proto 4, refine the edge and give it a high polish, add the new heat treat and peened finish, lastly add the big gso 12 size flag and logo.
Since I am on a roll, have Guy find a big piece of 1/4 inch thick 3v and make me a hatchet with ghost jade scales with a little checkering for grip at the bottom.

fixed it.

This is mine:

The rest Guy brought home.

Wow, American, that is hilarious! It's also funny you bring this up now as I was just practicing my dive rolls and ninja flips in my living room!

Man, I'd take the lock of beard hair and run. That would be reward enough. If Guy was really insistent though, the swedge seems to be the most coveted discontinued option.

I just love the look and feel of bare steel, but maybe when I order an SK model I'll change my mind and need more cerakote in my life. It's fun seeing how handle and sheath colors match together, but adding different colors of cerakote would take it to a whole new level!

I would really like to see a true blood red handle (that doesn't turn so russet like my red linen when dry) and the gray sheaths come back

Also I can't help but think how neat it would be to be able to have a minimalist survival kit in the handle of the knife..... with a compass on the pommel........... and maybe a saw back.........................

Lol. Good thread. I would say a sedge on just my 7/7. I can't help but feel greedy for that.

Some pouch kits. There wouldn't have to be anything in there. Maybe a piece of fat wood. But something to fit S! Sheaths to hold small bits of gear.

It seems a lot of people like the swedge. I saw one of the older models (a 7/7 maybe) with it and it's definitely a cool addition! Hopefully it's something Guy will make available when the time comes.

Cool! What's that on his/her head?

Cookie of some sort. That was a long time ago now. Murphy isn't as good at that trick these days because he is too worried the new dog is going to take it from him.

Edit to add: I will try to remember to get some photos of the whole zoo up on the sidekicks page.

Are there any pix of it??

You can kind of see the hole in this picture:

There are a few photos on instagram under the #necker2 search that show that there is a lanyard on the knife, but I can't find any pictures of the lanyard hole in the handles. It is just a little hole, like the original hidden lanyard holes, since it just wraps around the skeletonizing.
