Survive GSO knives

I recognize there was a discrepancy and just wanted to point out the update.

It wasn't a discrepancy in what he posted. At the time of fog's post you could still pre-order. This was a complete contradiction in what survive said. This, on top of all the other lies over and over and over again makes them big fat liars. No discrepancy at all....

I recognized the discrepancy between what SURVIVE! said and what they did.

everyone here already has their mind made up.
This thread is not for "everyone here". It is to give feedback for other people to get information and make up their own mind.

If SURVIVE! didn't change anything there would be more posts about their ponzi scheme...
That is because it is a ponzi scheme run by liars. They've had ample time to get their act together and at every chance have squandered it and used lies to keep the scheme going.

now that they finally did close out their last open knife model, well..... you'd think by page 11 that I would understand that this thread is only for discussing the bad and ugly.
The only claim of "good" with regards to survive might be their product, if you can get one from them, and even that is subjective as we all have different tastes in what we like in a knife. If you want to talk about the only subjective "good" survive has going for it you can do so in their subform. That is not what this section is for. As I and many other people see it there is only the "Bad" and the "ugly" which deserves discussion in this section with regards to survive.

I misunderstood what kind of discussion this was.
We're discussing the pure unvarnished truth with all the warts exposed. We're talking about a ponzi scheme disguised as a knife manufacturer. A flawed scheme that has led to the results we see today. Results that aren't a surprise to people with a little skepticism and thought. Only someone blinded by self interest would encourage members to support this company.

I'm trying to prevent new inexperienced members from walking into the survive! knives swamp. My humanity wants me to help new members from becoming embroiled in this mess, trying up their limited funds and ultimately turning them away from custom knives.

You're dreaming of a company that never really existed and you're actively supporting that dream at the expense of others. Up there somewhere a member says survives problems started in the beginning of 2015- Well it's the beginning of 2018 and their mess is worse than ever.

So what I'm trying to say is:
DO NOT "INVEST" IN SURVIVE! KNIVE UNTIL THEY GET IT ALL STRAIGHTENED OUT!!
Invest- That was their term not mine.

Great post.

Exactly-----------------There are none so blind as he who fails to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone with two eyes(or at least one)can see the pattern with Survive that has been going on for the past couple of years.

Well said

While certainly Survive has a lot of problems which, IMO, do make them a bit of a risk, you shouldn't call this a ponzi scheme. For all you know, they have the money in the bank and they aren't covering their bills for current production with future sales.

And even if they are covering some current production costs with future sales, that's not the same as a ponzi scheme. Businesses quite often get into cash flow trouble and pay yesterday's bills with current sales. It's bad business practice because it puts an organization on the edge of bankruptcy, but it happens.

raistlin65, the topic of S! being operated akin to a Ponzi scheme has been debated ad nauseam here on the BFC in different threads whether on here, the GKD or their own subform. In the tradition of the GB&U, I can say that S! in its current status has earned all three!

The Good: their GSO products. No matter how one feels about the Co, their knives are very good. Not worth the hassle of going through what has transpired in the last 2 years, but certainly worthy of grabbing their D3V knives, if / when thy are readily avail at reasonable prices albeit with a little bit of premium associated if in the 2ndry.

The Bad: unlike many on here who are calling for their proverbial heads, I am not prepared to call the S! principals "bad" as in rotten type of people but their behavior has certainly been very bad and it deserves that moniker till they prove otherwise by making things for their existing customers both right and whole.

The Ugly: their production, marketing and fulfillment processes. Desperately in need of a professionally run management team and much guidance. An ugly process can be fixed and many successful business go through this kind of phase. The S! team must become less obtuse and stubborn in order to make the necessary changes. Their old ways of doing this is a proven failure and perhaps their collaboration with Millit Knives will help their process.

No thanks. I'll call it a ponzi scheme.

You're close but the actual quote is even more appropriate.

"There are none so blind as those who will not see..."

The number of willing victims and shills is astonishing.

I agree with what you have said in the good, the bad, the ugly. And I don't dispute the testimonials of individual bad experiences that people have had which I have read. It's just seems to me to be a lot of bad--and certainly unethical at times--business practices, and which is a large part of why I haven't ordered from them. I don't like to support small businesses who act this way. I just don't agree that one should call this a ponzi scheme.

^ If they can just do this one simple thing, along with increasing production, to meet their demand, they can hopefully, finally, get things turned around in a positive direction.

One thing's for certain: this thread may be a blessing, for S!K), I think are finally beginning to realize, that the time for action is now! One more year of this same type of unacceptable, unprofessional operation...& they will meet their doom.

I for one, am pulling for S!K to succeed.

This would be awesome! You go to their website to place an order and see an estimated delivery time sometime in the next 730 days. I'm sure that will just bring the customers right in!
The only other option is for them to actually get their backside out of bed and get to work, but I'm guessing the laziness will continue. Besides, with everyone's money already in the bank or spent, what motivation can they possibly have? Clearly bankruptcy and/or jail doesn't bother these oxygen-wasters, and they obviously have no pride.

They are our own personal Bonnie & Clyde, the forum would be less spicy without them! it's a love hate relationship! Spend at you own risk!
They don't kill people, but they kill hopes of collectors wanting to complete a series of survival knives, before they grow old, and they kill the peace of mind of the individual buyer, who has lost control of his money!
