Survive! Knives Folder!!!!

So, my latest investigation have revealed that the folder is going to be:

- "a bit larger than this little guy" (the 2.7), and
- not a lockback (I'm chocked, I was so sure!)
- about thumb stud vs hole vs nick I came up with nothing. Grr... :)

So I'm guessing between 3-3.5". Would it make sense to have a 3.5 folder when you have the ultimate fixed 3.5 blade? So probably in between? Or how does Guy reason? The man, the mystery, the legend...

What is your research based on???

All of what you wrote sounds good to me! The biggest thing I'm wondering is if it will be an all metal body/handle like a Zero Tolerance or if it will be micarta on the outside like a Benchmade.

Will it be totally new and unique or a folding version of the 2.7 or 3.5?

It's based on me hijacking the Instagram 2.7 post and "interviewing" Guy about the folder. :)

I had always imagined micarta sides, based on the customized handles on the GSO line.

And since he's a leftie I thought a lockback made sense, since it would be a one lock fits all. (And axis etc sounds harder to do if he's not got friends in high places...)

But now I just don't know any more.

Maybe it'll be a frame or liner lock and he'll just do left and right versions and assemble on demand? Perhaps it's not more expensive.

Hmmm

I'm pretty sure he'll surprise us with something.

Nice work! "This is Reporter ni1s coming to you live from the internet!" I'll have to check that out on instagram. Very exciting!

Or even a friction folder in the event someone gets a little rough with their folder there's no concern with monkeying up the lock.

Regarding the most framelocks not being left friendly, I've never understood this one. Granted, everyone is different, but I've never had an issue with opening/closing left-handed; I'm right-handed to boot. :D

One small issue I've fortunately never had but could envision is being right-handed your thumb is in the path of the blade while closing it. If I was lefty, a bit of your thumb would stick out but not to the same extent as a righty's.

Curious about others' thoughts.

I am lefty and carry my folders lefty when I have a handgun on my right hip. (Im right I dominant, but left handed, so I shoot righty to more quickly align sights when combat shooting.) i have never had an issue with a righty knife in my left hand.

Nope, Nope, NOPE! Not Page Two! :grumpy:

Just making sure the Seiferds know we still want a SK! folder... :D
