Survive! Knives Heads Up

I think the raffle is a great idea. I doubt you would need to post any further out than the subforum to fill.

Yeah, that price is ridiculous. Quality knife... But that guy priced in desperation.

I'm just hoping that this won't be the new norm. I've spent some stupid money on these things in the past and it would suck if the secondary market stays that way.

If it's anything like the Busse's they'll definitely be a markup, but the flood of availability (between general availability and everyone who got their starter/pre-order) should keep it from going crazy (at least here on the forums). A lot of times I see the Busse's come up for barely over what the guy paid, plus enough to cover fees and shipping (again, at least here on the forums). I think if a person waits too long - and all of that settles out and there's no new 5.1s available then it might shoot up again

It's great seeing the secondary market the way it is, not necessary for us but for Survive!. As goofy as it sounds it justifies the hype and ultimately the "brand". And the great thing is that S!Ks aren't just safe queens, people are using them. Nothing against Busse, I have a ton of them, but I don't see the same number of Busse use/hard use videos as I do with S!K.

A tiny mark up is understandable. I just have an issue with some of these fleabay sellers that only buy these things to make a profit off of them.
The last GSO that I sold was a 6 and I let it go for $300. I felt kind of guilty but it was a hard to find knife in pristine condition with a Sagewood dangler and an extra set of scales. After all that was added up with shipping and insurance, I almost broke even.

It is great to see the hype for these knives!
The only Busse video that I've seen was with some guy pounding one into a driveway to test tip strength and I was pretty blown away. Not something I would do, but it was impressive as hell!

Is the big auction site the best place to look for the secondary market? Or is it here?

Generally, I've seen better prices on the for sale forums here, but that's certainly not 100%. If nothing else, the same person is going to sell it for more on the auction site because there's more fees, even if they just want to break even
