I'm really anxious for people to start reporting about their shipping notifications. Two weeks ago on instagram there was a pic with the caption about orders going out "tomorrow". I'm curious as to who made day 1 orders and if they're receiving their 5.1's yet. Come on 5.1's, we need you![]()
Do you guys know if any were actualy shipped by the survive team ?
We have gotten a few out but not many so far. There have also been GSO-5 and Necker II orders that need to go out. We should start hitting it hard on the GSO-5.1 preorders late next week.
5.1 is my most anticipated knife. While waiting to place my order for one I have been buying a little of some other slightly more inferior knives once in awhile just to tie me over. What a torturous wait but I am sure it's gonna be worth every part of it.
The real worry should be going broke once the 5.1 gets there...because you will want the rest of the lineup! My first Survive! knife was technically a factory second necker, because its all they had available. Liked it well enough so i went for a 4.1 next...well now its at: 1x5.0, 2x4.1, 2x3.5, 1xN-2, 1xN.....and a new 3.5 on preorder... I may have to pick up one of the spare 5.1's when they hit, though I am hoping to hold out for a 6...long story short you will be happy and it is worth the wait.![]()
Lol! What a collection you have there!
You are absolutely right so I have been mindful about setting enough cash for the 5.1. That's also why I have not bought the Chris Reeve Sebenza which I have been thinking of buying. I don't want to miss out on the bandwagon for the 5.1 on this run. I have a 4.1 on preorder and although I am sure it is a great knife, the 4.7 and 5.1 size category is probably the best all rounder survival knife.
To tie me over I just bought an Esee 3 last night, something cheap just for me to play with in the mean time. Although I am quite sure I may want a 3.5 as well, the Esee 3's much thinner blade profile seems to make it a great slicer for fine wood work so I must try it out. Somehow I just have this fetish for super fine feathering and the Esee 3 should be able to do that job. Have been using a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 for that.
We should start seeing more pictures and reviews soon...
