"Survive This", Les Stroud's show airs in the US tonight!

Watched about ten minutes but wasn't my thing. Kinda reminded me of the Boy Scouts, the parts you wanted to forget.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but we're a few weeks into the show now, and still not at the halfway point.

My 6-year-old found this show and introduced me to it. I'm hooked.

It sure looks like the kids thought they were signing up for something quite different: by now, they've realized that pain hurts, fatigue is tiring, exposure is cold, and hunger gnaws at you. Experience is the best teacher.

We love the show in our house: it's actually inspiring a lot of "what choice would you make at this point" kind of stuff with the wife and kids.

So far my favorite point was--no, not the kid knifing himself--was when Les showed up at night and said "So far this has been a level or two below camping. Time to make increase the challenges."

By the way, if you have the ability to watch this commercial free (we watch it "on demand" via our cable company, but Tivo or DVRing should work), the show is a LOT better and faster paced.
