Survived!

Boys, take it from me. Don't get old and sick and when checkout time arrives have a nice quick, clean heart attack.
It's too bad we don't get to choose our passing Bill.
As an old Harley rider used to say, "Life is a virgin, if it was a bitch it would be easy."
Hang in and I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. A little relief makes it easier to keep on keeping on, at least it does for me.

Very glad to see you back Bill, and hope that they have a handle on it. Must be a relief to get back to your own space. Take it easy and get well, and we'll do our part with smoke and prayers.

Best regards to you and Yangdu.

Bill,

Glad to hear the news. Now on the heart attack - you want to make sure that you have it after a fantastic dinner, a good cigarette or cigar, a little companionship and a nice long (uhmm!) session - then it is good to go out with a heart attack...that is how I want to check out.

Glad you're still in the game, Uncle. You're a tough old bird....don't think I'd want to carve you for Thanksgiving (not even with a 20' AK). :D In reference to dinner, cigar and companionship.....does anyone remember that old movie about Diamond Jim Brady and Lillian Russell (with these guys....Alice Faye, Don Ameche, Henry Fonda, Edward Arnold, Warren William, Leo Carrillo, Nigel Bruce ) Diamond Jim (played by Edward Arnold) realizes he's not going to have Lillian as his own true love.....and in the last scene, sits in front of his fireplace and, tho' he knows it will probably kill him, order a few bottles of wine, 5 or 6 pheasants and the works........go out with a flair.

Smoke and prayers from Boise.

Many thanks, all.

I've said, both on and off the forum, there is no disgrace in getting knocked down but there is in not getting up again.

Well, this has been going on since Sept. -- just one damned thing after another with each episode more serious -- except for the ear infection I picked up last week to accompany me to SFO -- and I'm feeling like I've gone a hundred rounds with a 25 year old Chuck Norris. Getting harder and harder to get back up again.

Well, you'll just have to wait your turn Bill, there's still an inch to burn on the stick I'm sending for Pappy.

Glad to hear you made it back, Uncle Bill. Keep up the good fight. Smoke and prayers.

Smoke going up from Chi.
Actually, I'm barbecuing ribs in your honor tonight. Hickory smoke for you. :D

Maybe my sword weilding ancestors were onto something, believing it was far better to die in battle and/or adventure than old age.

You're good man Bill, you'll be OK no matter which road fate takes you down.

Sorry, Bill....only hamburgers tonight.....but the smoke is dedicated to you. :p

Bill, you continue to be in my thoughts. Stay healthy, my friend.
Keep fighting. :)

I'll take any kind of smoke I can get -- ribs, burgers, even a trash fire -- just as long as the +++ thoughts go up with it.

I know it's tough with all going on right now, but it's nice to have options. Smoke on the way.
When I run out of options I'm going to pack a weeks worth of provisions into my kayak and launch from the beach at Santa Cruz bound for Hawaii. If I rethink somewhere within four days then I can always turn back. Alzheimer's tends to run(rampant) in my family. I wanna go on my terms.

Been trying to come to terms with that sickness, myself. My mother is sliding downards with it, and it's not pretty. Want to make sure I don't put my kids through what's going on now. The kayak sounds like a REAL good idea.
