I'm a buisiness man who sell bags for living. One day I recieved an email throgh Yahoo auctions from a person named Mrs Jenefer Collins. She said she was interested in my bag and want to purchase 20 of them. So I asked her to send the total price using paypal ,but she said she wants to use the citi bank united kingdom instead. I said OK why not. The next day I recieved an email from the citi bank united kingdom. In this mail they say that the have recieved a full paymemt from Mrs Jenefer Collins and they're ready to send money to my bank, but before they do that, they want me to send the EMS tracking number and a digital image of the receipt so that they know that I really shipped the items and I did exactly what they have told me. The next day another mail came from the citi bank and they say that they have sent the tracking number and the image to their international shipping agency for verification and will take 24 hours for their reply. and after they did that they will send me a password to claim for the money. and will take 7 days to get the money finally. I actually called the number in the mail from citi bank but the guidance said it's a wrong number. do you think it's a fraud?

I called the post office to hold the shipment and I was lucky that it was still at the post office.

I am VERY glad you were able to stop the shipment.

In the future, be careful to accept payment only through systems with which you are familiar. If in doubt, call the bank or company involved using an information number, NOT the number provided by the person who wants to do business with you.

Another related scam is the buyer who wants to overpay you, and have you send the difference to a third party. Their ovrpayment to you will turn out to be a fraud and your payment to the third party will be your good money.

I am going to move this to the FEEDBACK forum. Thanks for posting about this!

When they send you the password, you will be directed to a spoof site and they will ask you for your bank account information so they can "send the payment to you." Don't give them your bank information!

Thank you all for your reply. This guy is not giving up yet. After refusing to use his citi bank fraud he sent me another paypal fraud which has the same procedure as the citibank fraud. I called paypal directly on the phone and asked if they had service like this and they answered no. They told me that they have reports in the past on similar cases. The fake mails are made very shrewdly. watch out for mails like this:mad:
