Svord: hidden gems!

The 370BB model is a awesome knife. I want one with a 4mm thick blade. IMO this would make it the perfect survival knife.
even standard its bloody super strong. I just got to get a kydex sheath made for it.
Its a prime example of how strong 2.2mm thick blade can be!

@ Kyley. Have you done a reveiw on the CK-KD Kiwi Dragon ?

Yes sir. I love mine . Its suprising how usefull this knife is. I bought it thinking it would be just a Big "Ego" feeding knife.
But no. Its one of my favrorite & most usefull knives. Only down side is the knife is not as well shaped or ground as in the Promotion pictures. But i can live with that.

I bought this one off ebay about 3 weeks ago, real cool, very sharp.it is kind of like old hickory, but its a real slicer. i like the rainbow finish, too, nice grip. handle reminds me of a steak knife, but it works well.

This is a good discussion on a very interesting line of knives but

1. the General Knife Discussion is for discussing the knives, NOT sales, and
2. only paid members with the proper category of membership can sell here.

Goldie, would this make a good bushcraft blade?

Thats why i bought it, i like the wider blade & contoured handle,as opposed to some mora's & scandi type knives with strait handle. it slices & whittles well.4 1/2" blade. they also make a pig sticker model with 6" blade & polypropeline handle, too.this blade seems strong, too, its about the same thickness as a mora, maybe 1/8".it was very sharp out of the box,i could feel how easily it opened a few letters with ease.

I really love my Peasant knives, that steel after some serious re-profiling takes a wicked edge

Another happy peasant owner here. Picked up the orange handled peasant from Garret Wade and I'm very happy with it. Good, basic design with descent steel and a great price, what more could you ask for?

I got a Peasant knife with a wood handle. Can't open it, the pivot is too tight and when I try to loosen it, it just revolves, no way to grip the back.

Try adjusting it while the knife is half open. The key is to adjust it so that the blade is just snug in the handle at the point when the edge is completely concealed. Then just use gentle pressure when closing to seat the blade--if you push it in too far it can have trouble opening, like you're having now. Hope that makes sense--it's a little hard to word, but it's the trick I used to adjust the tension on the ones I got in for the shop. Worked like a charm.

Kyley, Haven't seen you around. How you been? Are you still making the hikers?

Thanks for the how-to video on one-handed opening. I was doing it exactly how he said not to, and his method is about 50 times easier. Closing it is a bit of a pain to do without the use of my body or knee, but I like the challenge, and it gives me slightly more experience on hand manipulation that will at some point become useful. Only thing I regret with my Peasant is that I used my metal bluing pen to blacken the steel. The next day I realized I liked the sheen, and it is a total pain to polish that crap off.

Gunknifenut. the spine thickness is about 4mm maybe a touch thicker. As Kyley said, it is the CK-KD Kiwi Dragon. Has a 7" blade. Because they are all hand made mine looks a bit diferant to the website picture. My photo skills & the pantina prob dont help the comparison.
