I haven't found any of these for sale yet, but I may have to spring for one when they come out. People have a love/hate reaction to the Peasant, but put me firmly in the LOVE camp! Great carbon steel, simple and strong design. This smaller knife might make it more of an EDC candidate.

Oh can't wait for these!!!

Should be much more pocket friendly....might not stab you in the groin as much anyway :/

I'm a fan, have had one for about 3, maybe 4 years, steel takes a great edge, I keep mine convexed. It's my woods knife when I don't want to carry a fixed blade, I also use it snowshoeing, it's easy to use with gloves on. A smaller version will be great for a EDC utility knife.

nice! the size and shape of the peasant knife makes it a little hard to carry as a 'drop in your pocket' edc. usually have mine in the 'leg pocket' of cargo pants where i dont worry about it coming open while walking around and stabbing something i want to keep intact.
although i wonder if a smaller version would get jumbled up in the pocket and come open more easily.

i love mine! a smaller size would be cool, i love their write up on the peasants, whoever is writing their copy has a flair for it, cracks me up everytime i read it.

Nice! Something to put on the " got to have " list that won't even dent the budget :D

Now that may even interest me. I've looked at the Svord but it is soooo darn big. Too big for real pocket carry. But I have an interest in old style friction folders for a historical point. Like Opinels and Navaja's, they have a heritage to them in the evolution of cutlery. I wouldn't mind a small friction folder to experiment with. Any idea when these are going to hit the market?

Carl.

That is nice, for sure. But I don´t see a classic Peasant knife in wooden handles... ;) That would really be nice. I don´t own a Peasant knife, until now. But the smaller version would be a great working knife.

Very cool! I wonder how strong the construction is?

The pivot screws look to be the same size as the full size peasant. So, I'd say pretty darn strong.

Humppa, my guess is they'll offer a mini in wood, maybe even in the aluminum scales.

If the Mini is as fat as the original, I don't know if that would be much improvement. The Slim looks to be an improvement, though, and it's already available.

Personally I hope they release it with wood scales and thinner blade stock or a better grind. Mine has a lot of steel behind the edge.

I wouldn't get too wishful about the grind. This will be a cheapie but goodie. I expect the same uneven grind that we all know and love.

I like the Svord Peasant a lot. They're great knives, but a bit unwieldy. A smaller version sounds like a great idea. I'll be picking a mini up for sure. I'll probably try one of the new slim versions as well.

Hey guys, I was looking at getting a regular Svord, but your comments about it opening up in-pocket confused me. I thought you could adjust the tension so it wouldn't be an issue?
