Swamp Rat and SYKCO Chat

I’d love to get my hands on a Mini Uncle Mojo (no blade catch).

I currently have the R9, RMD, R4, M6, and the HRLM. The Mini Uncle Mojo would probably solidify my Swamp needs/wishes

Out of the kin, I find myself stepping in the Swamp every time. I have the SYKCO 711, 311, and the Infi Dog Soldier (6)...but I keep wanting that Mojo.

Mini Unlce Mojo.....about the closest a guy can get to a full-on M7

No Mojo, however, there is a sweet Rat Trap for sale right now. She's a tad pricey, but you just don't see them very often.
I let one slip thru my fingers!

It was a lot more sawing and axing than using the ratweiler but it certainly helped in some of the detail work. Turning a downed tree into a rideable feature at a local mtb trail. Sorry for the poor pics, I didn't realize they sucked so bad when I was taking the pics this AM.

Thanks BE. I have mine and I'm not rich enough to be a collector of multiple kinds of the same thing. Mine have to prove their worth and pull their weight.
The Infiweiler has not let me down.

If I didn't have the sr-101 version, I would strongly consider getting another. The red handled one listed is really striking.

You know BE, that SR 101 version will serve you mighty well. A Ratweiler is a Ratweiler no matter how you shake or bake it, but after starting this thread back on Sept. 7, 2014 by saying that the perfect knife would be a Ratweiler made out of INFI, I HAD.... to have the Ultimate.
I thanked the Boss in a PM and he said, you're welcome my friend.

I don't need a chopweiler but Uncle Timbo Uncle Timbo 's bad (good?) influence caused me to order a ratmandu.

But the real reason I'm back in the thread, to show off some work while on staycation today. More of a machete day than a ratweiler day but I do love having that thing on the hip for making tools and things (like a hook/stick for the offhand when machete-ing). So versatile, it makes me wonder if I really want my BK4 anymore (both great in different ways). Also trying out a new carry method of the overweight hand axe (rinaldi milano) with a really rough leather mask I made last night (1st one actually completed).

The crew while I was getting a break and resharpening the machete

Clearing up the wood camp (everything was chest high, crazy)

Because I forgot to get the rat in a few shots

He's hiding in there somewhere

Bridge 2 needs some work. Looks like a few of the logs floated off with the wet spring we had. It was flooded and I couldn't get back for a month or so. Also need to clear the backside that should have the log pile from last winter if it hasn't floated away or sunk into the mud from the spring rains

This spot's familiar
Now,

closer in during the winter when I removed the fallen tree (and first time out giving the rat a big workout)

Same stump as above

And then some obligatory chopping to try and clear up some of the logs left over from last winter's haul and to play with some of the other choppers I have been trying out.

And some miscellaneous ones I forgot I took afterwards just because the rat is photogenic (wish I was that good looking).

And why not, a random sky shot because my hand hit the button. Beautiful day out.

You know BE, I think you gave that Ratweiler a far better home than I could of. At least for now with my shoulder being wacked.
I love your pics, I feel almost like I'm there. Keep up the great work and remember, that Rat loves to eat wood!

It sure does. The problem, as the pictures highlight, is all of the wood's hidden under the grass. It's like a Michigan Jungle. But don't worry, the ratweiler compels people to find a way to give it something to gnaw on.

Somewhere across bridge 2 is this pile of deliciousness from the winter that never made it to the lumber camp for processing. Could be a good weekend if the weather stays low enough that I can sweat a little but not overheat.

I feel the same way about knives as I do my bikes, sure they can get expensive but it that's what it takes to get you off your butt to enjoy the outdoors then it's money well spent. And the rat... was money well spent.
