Swamp Rat and SYKCO Chat

Right now, this is the perfect Swamp rat knife to me...

The Shaker is just about perfect EDC fixed blade! I hardly ever leave the house without mine. (It's at home now :( as I didn't want to risk screwing up my holidays in a no-knife-carrying country.

I got my perfect Swamp Rat Knife few months back.......
A Ganza INFIdu with Green/Black G10....Azwelke OD Pancake Sheath.
Purchased new never used $325 shipped (Forsale Forum here at BF October)

Took me all year to trade up to it.....it was a grail so I made it happen.

The Orange/Black woulda been my 2nd choice.
This graphic reflects my research findings...did my homework before hand! :D

That looks like a very nice all around woods/hunting knife for sure and not too thick and heavy. Congrats and Thanks for the pics and all.

Purchased a RMD LE last fall. Only had a couple of Busse type (one was an early BM )knives in the past, and thought I would go out and get a non coated sr101 blade.
Now my dilemma. Too dam nice to use, and too damn nice to sell. Yep, mostly perfect!
Have sold off most all my safe queens, fixed blades anyhow.
Anyone using their RMD LE and what does it look like with a use patina? I keep a light coating of mineral oil on the blade.
Tempted to pull it off the for sale forum and order a sheath.
Have eese, bk, cold steel, for trail and truck.

If that beauty could talk. Just look at all the love she's been shown. By far, the sweetest Rat I've ever seen in a looong time.

I don't have an LE but a semi-stripped & polished RMD. I haven't been using it on acidic foods, just outdoor utility/woodcraft, i don't oil it but don't leave it wet if I can help it, patina is slow to develop. you could always force it. Google "sr101 patina" or "rmd patina" and search images, lots to be had. Here's mine:

Only if the custom shop can do that grind.....

I love the fact that you use her for what she was designed for, and it shows. That to me is a thing of beauty.

I'm not talking about using her for demo work on an old house or something like that (even though I know she could prolly handle it) My dad always told me, son, if you need a screwdriver, go get a screwdriver, a knife is for cutting.
