Thanks, yeah. I was collecting years ago and built it up slowly. When possible, I got one for each of my kids... :D

Pics of my new custom shop "Trail Skinner" (my nickname). It is a Rodent Trail which I ordered with liners and a large choil with slightly thinned down front handle section. It pretty awesome!!! :D

Thanks bud, I spent over an hour doing the background, its the first time i ever tried using software to change a picture like this. It was hard to get the effect and keep the shadow of the blade and lanyard without distorting the colors in the knife and log. But i think it came out pretty neat.

And the chopweiler is just a phenomenal knife. It is the type of knife you put in your hands and your like, now this is what i have been searching for all this time!!!

Nice collection! How is the Keffeler? It's a voluminous handle with what looks to be a pretty thin grind!

Thanks Chiral, Its an amazing knife for sure, the way the handle is positioned is just genius! I have been through quite a few large knives but never had anything that chopped as good as this thing. The edge is at ~30 degrees inclusive and im amazed at how strong the edge is and how deep it bites. It has a crazy amount of power. It weighs in at around 800grams and it is around .35" thick. A real beast!

Now this one is not a new knife, this is the exact knife you seem him using in the 1 hit 2x4 chop youtube video, and the knife he has used for the last 3 years for his 2x4 derbys including the 2011 national championship, And Dan never lost using this one :) so its been used hard A LOT and it has a great story behind it, but it does not represent the fit and finish you get on his new knives, even though i love how this thing looks you cant judge this ones looks to what you get when you order a new knife from him. But like i told Dan i was after something that works, and works great and looks didnt matter to me. And from the little i got to try it out so far, Its unlike anything i ever tried and easily out-chops everything i own. I cant wait to work it out some more.

That is a Ka-Bar potbelly. An excellent knife for the price... ~80.00 bucks. It chops really well for its size and slices excellently. The hollow ground blade doesnt make it the best at battoning/splittling as the blade tends to get stuck quite a bit but for anything other than battoning it works really well. I didnt care for the brown plastic scales that came with it so i contacted tommythewho, a member here, and he made those wooden scales for me, they are bocote wood. Being 1095 cro-van steel it is extremely easy to sharpen and gets very very sharp. It doesnt hold its edge as long as SR-101 but still does nicely. I was worried the handle might be uncomfortable at first but i have come to love it, when chopping i hold it behind the hump in the handle and when slicing or doing detailed work there is room to really choke up on the blade. It also comes with a smaller skeleton knife for small task but i gifted that to another member here.

Hollow ground, 0.25" thick 1095 cro-van blade, HRC 56-58
Blade Length: 6-5/8"
Handle Length: 5-1/2"
Overall Length: 12-1/2"
Weight: 17.6 oz.
