Swamp Rat Proudly Introduces The Bog Runner ........ Coming Sunday February 5, 2023 At 9PM Eastern

I haven't ordered a Busse (or Bussekin) in years, but both my brother and me bought these. How long, generally speaking, is the wait? Do they wait for all orders before starting to make that amount of knives (which could take a while)? Or are they already made and will ship in a ~week or whatever?

Seems no one wanted to answer this, so I'll take a shot. Lately, it SEEMS to me that the time between the knife opening to orders to the first ding has been around 5 weeks or so. From there, some immediately start shipping, others have to wait. No way to tell when they start fabrication. But it seems they will run one batch of a type (say, coated), all scale options, then move to the next (say stonewash or bead blast). All in, it appears that people get their knives anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks after the order opens. Some go longer, some go shorter. Unless you order from a Ganzaa. Those tend to turn around much quick, probably because everything is built before the ganzaa starts.
Hope this helps. You could also jump over to the Busse 2019 offerings - And Beyond and look through it to get a feel of how delivery varies.

Thanks for the info!

I actually thought (I guess 'hoped') these were already made if I'm to be honest. I thought this because why else would they send out a "last call" email the other day, ONLY for the penetrator tip version, unless they definitively knew EXACTLY how many they had produced, i.e. they were already made.

Since that email was specifically about the penetrator tip, that also lead me to believe that the NON-penetrator/regular version was sold out (i.e. that again, they had already made these to know exactly how many they had to sell). But no, incorrect, because just today they sent out another "last call" email for the regular NON-penetrator version lol... so just marketing mumbo-jumbo.

Oh, and Busse, FYI if you're reading - PLEASE stop sending so many emails. it's literally the most I've ever seen from any legit company... ANY other company I would have unsubscribed years ago (and when you send friggin 3x emails a day, MANY days in a ROW... I think about unsubscribing ALL the time... Feb 8th 4x emails, 2/7 3x, 2/6 3x, 2/5 3x, etc. etc. etc. Seriously?). Just a FYI form a person who manages the social/email campaigns of a Fortune 100 company... statistically you would have a HUGE unsubscribe rate sending out that many emails... (but maybe I underestimate the fervor of people who like Busse... but still... tone it down).

I THINK it has been posted somewhere on here before that they plan for a maximum number of any given design on their first run (which usually is run at a significant discount over what they are offered on the site after the initial run, IF they remain on the site). And plan for a fixed number of coated, fixed number of stonewash or beadblast, and fixed number of satin. So in this case, they dropped these with the idea they would have a certain number of the penetrator tip, and a certain number of the regular tip. Once they get close, they send out a last call. After that email, they usually take them down within a short period of time. They may or may not come back as a regular item.
So, marketing? Well, Jerry is a good salesman, in addition to making great knives.

I will say this: there have been some that have dropped that last call came less than 24 hours after ordering opened. And there have been some that I've gotten the last call email almost a week later. It varies, but I think it is specifically based on how many they intend to make in the first batch.

Hmmm. To late for this one, sold out. Dang it! Someone said it looks like a kitchen knife. Looks perfect to me.

TriChrome,

Not sure why you are getting some many emails per day. I went back and cross referenced the dates you listed and I only received one per day. It is possible that your email is duplicated in the newsletter system. If you would send an email to garth@bussecombat.com with your email that is getting extra newsletters we can look to see if it has been duplicated for some reason. If it has we can remove the duplicates so you are not receiving the same newsletter multiple times.

Thanks
Garth

next week they should be here :)
